Actually both my daughters were a month early. Not gonna lie: took some Fridays and 4pm exits now that I think about it to sit or help feed at the NICU but didn't straight-up disappear for four consecutive weeks. Even here the mommy is exponentially more important and "effective" than dad.

Now this was not ideal but plenty of preemies were in serious dire condition way beyond my early gals. In these very rare instances I'd expect any employer to do the right thing and shell out many weeks of paid leave w/o needing nanny govt to either force their hand or chip in. I honestly think 99% of businesses would in these cases. (and imagine the bad press that could occur should a few scrooges not want to).

Makes way more economic sense for society to pay for an unskilled caregiver to attend to mom vs. a highly paid dad taking time off work to do the same unskilled tasks. Also, this would create jobs vs. causing stress at the father's place of work.

And, The New Hampshire Union Leader endorses... well, read it for yourself.

You are going to post every fucking thing in both threads now?

Deece point. I'd only counter that a robust benefits plan at mom or dad's place of work should have this contingency on tap. Actually, forget a few weeks or months after birth; it's the lifetime care that gets very contentious re: society (taxpayers) vs parents. You're probably aware of autism headlines in Ontario?

Everyone here knows I'm voting for Johnson, but I'll be damned if he doesn't continue to run an awful campaign.  At this point he's basically alternating between threatening and begging the debate commission.

His strategy also seems awful.  Why is he focusing on small population western states right now when he needs to get to 15% nationally?  I understand wanting to build support in those states to make an impact on the election, but he should be hammering more dense population centers and drawing large rallies in college towns to get exposure and get to 15%.

You mean like the rally he held this past Saturday in NYC that was live-streamed on the innerwebs and yesterday's forum at Purdue with CPD member and former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels that got moved to a larger venue than originally planned?
