A few posts back you were talking about bringing in immigrants who could contribute, who could make the country richer and stronger. Does the cultural filter preclude those criteria? Which cultural values are we going to filter by? How do we test for that?

My grandparents were the children of Polish immigrants, and the Poles weren't part of mainstream Anglo culture when they emigrated here. Now we're all perfectly part of mainstream "white" culture, but that culture is massively different than the (Anglo dominated) culture of the early 1900s. There wasn't a problem, on the individual level, with Anglo communities in the US trying to maintain their culture, but on the national level, it was the right call to allow mass immigration from the rest of Europe.

I think we can agree on a set of pretty broad Western-style values that should be legally insisted on for people who are here, but I'm really not sure how you can test for culture at the border. Or, for that matter, whether there's any reason to think that would be beneficial for the nation if you're already bringing in mostly people who serve national needs.

We should have a politics test. Those who favor collectivism would of course be excluded.

Trump just said that if Hillary knew how to give a good BJ, the whole Monica L, and impeachment mess could have been avoided.

He can get away with saying anything while his opponents have to check everything they say.

He has no restraint. Kind of scary to think what he would do with America's military power.

Interesting article: it might be the closest to the truth that I've read yet..

Saw an interview with Larry Flynt, and he was endorsing Hillary. He was asked about Trump, and he talked about how he knew him personally, and that his ego wouldn't fit in all his buildings.

Another reason to support Trump: his followers are totally DTF.

Non-white dude next to him - they cancel each other out. For those of you that didn't catch the beginning of the speech, he took the stage to that song from the original Karate Kid (you're the best...around!)

You know the ol' saying "As Tom Brady goes, so does the nation."

A nation that once had a proud stride and now wobbles along trying to conceal its limply deflated balls? Led by cheats and criminals? Sounds right to me.
