Why would I want Trump to apologize for anything?  What do I care?  He didn't offend me nor do I have any interest in him winning.

I know you have no sense of what it is like being in the military or growing up in a military family, but the military and the community that surrounds regards a soldier's family very highly.  An attack on a family member (especially the parents of a fallen soldier) is not much different from an attack on a soldier.

I suspect there are a great many concepts that Medwed doesn't grasp

Lol. It is your imaginary offense and rehearsed outrage in liberal twilight zone. Thus, I think it would be fitting for you to throw another fit and demand an apology for imaginary offense. That is what liberal twats do afterall.

P.S. As for the military in general: most people are assholes, giving asshole a gun and telling him to kill people does not make him an automatic hero.

You are correct. I am not a dog, I don't serve.

I've asked you before.  When you call me a liberal, are you referring to a classical liberal or a watered down version of a progressive?

Also, do you know how to read?  I'm not outraged, I'm not looking for an apology, and I even literally wrote "He didn't offend me."

Oh but you do you just don't realize it . Matt Taibbi channeling Hunter S. Thompson

Then he went to his convention, and his lineup of speakers, minus the handful of "real" politicians who held their noses through the thing, read suspiciously like an episode of The Apprentice or Flavor of Love.. His celebrity guests were a bunch of D-listers ready to eat snails, walk on coals, swap wives or (in this case) publicly support Donald Trump to keep their fading celebrity alive.

The big exception was Duck Dynasty's Willie Robertson, an actual huge star who scored cheers attacking the media.

"It's been a rough year for the media experts," he said. "They don't hang out with folks like us who like to hunt, and fish, and pray, and actually work for a living. I don't even know if they know how to talk to people from Middle America."

It was hard to listen to Robertson's defiant spiel and not wonder at the fact that both he and his most ardent fans probably still have no idea that he was put on TV to be laughed at. Duck Dynasty viewers think they're the experts on hunting, but actually they're the hunted ones, just another dumb demographic to be captured, laughed at and force-fed commercials for Geico and Home Depot by the Smart People in New York and L.A.

Trump's voters will almost certainly share the same fate. They will be mined by cable news shows for their entertainment value before ultimately being held up as dangerous loons whose noisy little revolt will serve as the rationale for a generation of Democratic Party rule at the White House level.

Fake scandals - like her email? Please, in detail, outline for me Hillary's specifics on a range of issues that dwarfs Trump's policy details. There's a reason Clinton rarely does press conferences or interviews with anyone who might dare challenge her - it's because those things will hurt her in November. A public debate favors Trump.

Have you read any of their policy proposals? They're conveniently on their websites. You should check them out

Some dumbshit Trump spokesperson got on CNN and tried pin the blame for Khan's death on Obama changing the rules of engagement.

Khan died in 2004.

Also, this shit with Trump refusing to back Paul Ryan in his primary race is fascinating. All over this idiotic Khan thing?

Khan family should apologize to all muslims for equating good muslim Americans with islamic terrorists that Trump wants to block from coming to US.
Apologise now !!!!!

Phoenix, AZ– John McCain issued the following statement today regarding Donald Trump’s comments about Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan, who was killed in Iraq in 2004:

Both Trump and McCain are wrong. It would be great if we could distinguish between Muslim immigrants and bring people like Khan's son into this country while excluding dangerous people, but we can't. The fact is that Muslim immigrants, and their children, have killed scores of people in terrorists attacks. Can we stop pretending for two fucking seconds here? This country would be far better off, and a lot of people would still be alive, if none of them had come here. Hell, if we had been a bit more shrewd, the war Khan's son died in would have never been launched in the first place because 9/11 wouldn't have happened (yes I know about student/business visas). Trump shouldn't have said this, but somebody really needs to. Let's stop playing make believe and consider that despite heroes like Khan's son, Muslim immigration is not a net positive to this country, and sure as hell hasn't been a net positive to Europe.

Potentially related, but Trump's post convention bounce disappeared in the recent polls and Hillary is up 5-7%.

Trump will lose if he keeps this up. I thought he was going to stop making these mistakes months ago. As you point out, he squandered his post RNC bump. He'll get it back if he can show some restraint.

Taibbi has spent his career making fun of the Tea Party, and yet the DNC was basically one big Tea Party, pocket constitutions and all! Who knew the DNC's platform was about American exceptionalism, the founding fathers and the constitution, something liberals have spent the last 8 years mocking. There are a handful of months every election cycle during which liberals become patriotic and get all googly eyed for traditional American principles, then spend the rest of the time trying to fundamentally transform the country.

I doubt the people on Duck Dynasty care what "smart" people in LA and New York think of them. The cast members on Duck Dynasty probably find those people to be revolting. They are two cultures that despise one another. What seems to be lost on Matt is that if anyone got played, it wasn't Phil Robertson.

I don't care.

There are very few things he could possibly say or do that would make me think maybe Hillary is the better choice.

As it was beaten to death here, Hillary is known to be pile of shit, I'd gamble Trump won't be worse. But hey you can't know, it''s a gamble.

Yes I can understand why people say Trump could be even worse than Hillary on some practical issues. In fact I'm more liberal than most people here, im probably aligned more with Bernie Sanders in terms of views/policy if we speak about % of all ideas.

But there isn't anything I despise more than path today's western culture is on, path to oversensitive, femninised and sucidal society. I think it will be our demise to some extent, we will become too soft like society in Demolition Man or Sweden lol8[1].gif. Voting in Trump is a global fuck you to that, he doesn't need do anything he just needs to be an asshole he is. West needs a cultural push to the right(no in terms of religion). I'd wager electing Trump would help that.

Plus let's not underplay the entertainment factor. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

P.S. Global politics are boys club, if Clinton is elected I'd expect 8 years of complete stalemate and failure.
Just imagine the negotiations:
Erdogan -Hillary (someone's wife)
Assad- HIllary (someone's wife)
Putin - Hillary (someone's wife)

Why exactly did you think he was going to stop making these kind of mistakes? That's his entire personality. There was never any sign that he could turn it off. Giving a couple rehearsed speeches doesn't change who someone is.

This is like the "Oh my god, he's going to run as Barry Goldwater!" thing. Trump is running as Trump. No shit?

It bears repeating that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, although Bush almost certainly wouldn't have gone for them (and wouldn't have gotten public approval for the war) without first getting attacked.

A progressive that wants us to be a society of assholes? That's novel.
