If they spend time throwing personal insults and bringing up make believe scandals...then yes, trump has an advantage.

If they actually talk about policy and are pressed for specifics on what they might do with the presidency, trump doesn't have much going for him.

Of course, there are a lot of voters out there who just want to see trump joke about how big his dick is and who will fall asleep or change the channel if they start talking about Rodrigo Duterte.

Trump supporters seem to have some false memories about the debates during the primaries. Trump never did particularly well. He was mostly focused on not hurting himself, and that was with a clown car debate stage. He got a big bump after Christie destroyed Rubio, but that was about it.

Basically nothing Trump says will hurt him to his core supporters, but there are plenty of tentative Trump voters who could be swayed by him looking like a clown on the debate stage. Hillary isn't a compelling debater, but she's certainly disciplined enough to prep thoroughly and not make major errors. Trump could say anything, and he hasn't really demonstrated any interest in becoming able to talk about issues. Can he really get away with saying nothing but slogans for two hours on a one on one debate stage?

Hillarious Rob'em Clinton has been talking about this and that all her life. Well, she has a number of accomplishments I am sure, perhaps she will lie to us about them some day.

Libertarians defintitely skew white, but the L candidate for the VA governor's race, Sarvis, is married to a black woman.  The only reason I know this is because during that race, a FB friend made some comment about how all libertarians are white and hate black people.

Or maybe more black Americans should recognize that big government doesn't work.

Fake scandals - like her email? Please, in detail, outline for me Hillary's specifics on a range of issues that dwarfs Trump's policy details. There's a reason Clinton rarely does press conferences or interviews with anyone who might dare challenge her - it's because those things will hurt her in November. A public debate favors Trump.

Let's face it: voters skew white except for Dems.

Is Obama trying to torpedo Hillary?  He said in a press conference this morning that Trump is unfit to be President.  I can only see that helping Trump.

Associated Press

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump suggested Monday that he fears the general election “is going to be rigged” — an unprecedented assertion by a modern presidential candidate.

Trump’s extraordinary claim — one he did not back up with any immediate evidence — would, if it became more than just an offhand comment, seem to threaten the tradition of peacefully contested elections and challenge the very essence of a fair democratic process.

“I’m afraid the election is going to be rigged, I have to be honest,” the Republican nominee told a town hall crowd in Columbus, Ohio. He added that he has been hearing “more and more” that the election may not be contested fairly, though he did not elaborate further.

-----------------------------

Question - When Trump loses, what are the chances he claims the process was rigged against him?  100%?  1000%?  10,000%?  Let's see if he incites violence on top of this.

Obama's fairly popular right now. He could certainly fire up the base and sway some of the on-the-fence Trump people.

The people who hate Obama have got to be pretty firm Trump supporters, so that doesn't seem to be a big risk for him.

I don't know.  I think him saying things like he is "unfit" while doing a press conference with the Prime Minister of Singapore seems like a good way to fire up folks other than his base.  The Never Trump movement is already fired up.  Just seems dumb, especially when appearing with another world leader.

What I bolded is the key part. Usually the candidate has a surrogate(s) float that out for them.

How long do you think before the rest of animal world voice their concerns? 1 week, 3 weeks, mid-October?
