Try the link Penn just posted...where it says what I said.

The statement:
Quote:
People should be able to express diverse opinions and beliefs on Twitter. But no one deserves to be subjected to targeted abuse online, and our rules prohibit inciting or engaging in the targeted abuse or harassment of others. Over the past 48 hours in particular, we’ve seen an uptick in the number of accounts violating these policies and have taken enforcement actions against these accounts, ranging from warnings that also require the deletion of Tweets violating our policies to permanent suspension.
We know many people believe we have not done enough to curb this type of behavior on Twitter. We agree. We are continuing to invest heavily in improving our tools and enforcement systems to better allow us to identify and take faster action on abuse as it’s happening and prevent repeat offenders. We have been in the process of reviewing our hateful conduct policy to prohibit additional types of abusive behavior and allow more types of reporting, with the goal of reducing the burden on the person being targeted. We’ll provide more details on those changes in the coming weeks.

It says nothing specific about Yiannopoulos at all, much less about him participating in an "organized" campaign of harassment.

Twitter has had so many problems with harassment, TOS, reporting, etc over the past year (ex- a few months ago where they sent a reporters personal home address to the trolls who were harassing her)

The plagiarism thing has to be a cry for help from someone inside the campaign to show us how fucked up things are.

Do you really think Twitter is going to call him out by name?

Once again, it does not say any of the things you said it does about organized harassment -- by anyone.

I know Michelle worked really hard on that speech, but who cares? Presumably someone just put it in as a placeholder for a particularly generic part of the speech, then forgot where it came from.

I like Yiannopoulos, but he's one of those annoying queers that think all good looking men are gay. He made some ridiculous remarks about the Canadian prime minister on the Joe Rogan podcast, and basically called him a closeted homo.

Someone has taken responsibility. Not sure it's a cry for help so much as sheer stupidity

“In working with Melania on her recent first lady speech, we discussed many people who inspired her and messages she wanted to share with the American people,” Ms. McIver wrote.

Document: Trump Aide’s Statement on Melania Trump’s Speech
“A person she has always liked is Michelle Obama,” she added.

“Over the phone,” Ms. Trump “read me some passages from Mrs. Obama’s speech as examples. I wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the final speech. I did not check Mrs. Obama’s speeches.

But this week he went too far. According to Twitter, it was Yiannopoulos who led the harassment campaign against Ghostbusters actor Leslie Jones — an effort that inspired the SNL cast member to leave Twitter. The barrage of tweets, many of which decried Jones for being black and a woman, were the final straw for Twitter, which is working to try to solve its harassment problem.

So you inaccurately summarized Buzzfeed's inaccurate summary of the Twitter press release. This is how rumors get started.

Uhhh, okay?

How the hell did the rickroll end up in the speech? Nobody has manufactured a good explanation for that or found a scapegoat yet.

Today I learned that I am gay.
