What's the point of publishing a graphic of a three-month-old poll that includes two non-candidates (Cruz, Kasich) and excludes an active candidate (Sanders) the only nominated nationwide candidate (Johnson)?

Ata is a statist fuckpig, Nick. He will cite scripture for his purposes.

I'm not completely sure what the point is, other than to bash Trump. Rumor has it the media might not like him. What else is new? But that's what I posted it for, not because it speaks truth to power or some other such nonsense.

Hmm, just mentioned to a Clinton supporter that about 33% of Trump supporters feel blacks are likely to be less intelligent than whites. This got me a fairly predictable rant. I then mentioned 22% of Clinton supporters feel the same way, and since we can safely assume the number of black Clinton supporters is far greater than black Trump supporters, one might conclude this says the non-black Clinton supporters probably feel this way at about the same rate as general Trump supporters.

Thank you for my daily schadenfreude.

Just received a rebut. People don't want to sound racist so probably Trump people are under reporting their racism. I pointed out that this is almost a badge for pride for many Trump supporters, so logically speaking, it's probably Hillary folks that are under reporting.

Thank you for my daily schadenfreude.

We need a racial breakdown and a chart that goes to 100% and the fun will begin in earnest. Note that I have no doubt more hardcore racists support Trump but I don't see why the average supporter would be more racist...

Most of the comparisons are really asking whether someone will acknowledge uncomfortable statistics rather than whether they're racist per se -- though I'm sure there's some correlation.

What I'd like to see is what percentage of people rated blacks higher on each question. I imagine it's comparable. It appears that the survey was designed to produce this result, by asking for arbitrary numbers about one population, putting a bunch of questions in between, then asking about the other population [and expecting the exact same number]. If you'd asked "Are white people smarter than than blacks," I expect that few would agree.

This assumes the respondent knows the statistics and I feel most respondents are not sure of their own middle name.

I think what Ata is getting at is something like, acknowledging that there is less overt racism in 2016 than there was 60 years ago. The reasons for this decline could be due to either perceptions actually changin or a taboo on public expressions of racism.

Given that the latter will be operating more strongly on the self-identified left, I think its right to assume the above survery over states the actual difference in opinions between the groups of survey respondants.

I agree with that completely, in fact, I said so above while recounting my conversation with a liberal.

This might portend a "Disgusted Majority"

Donald Trump is a vulgar clown posing as a conservative, unmoored to any coherent ideology. He has generated unprecedented opposition and the contempt of people across the political spectrum. He is unbound to any principle other than his own appetite for adulation. And those very factors that make him so appalling also make him America’s only hope.

A Trump Presidency would certainly be an adversarial one and that might not be a bad thing.
