Trump is not suitable to be president. He does this for ego and press every four years.
I am just about as close to a single issue voter as one can get. Immigration is everything. Demographics is destiny. Charles Blow writes columns saying, "Time's up, evil old white male, get used to it, you're done." The political establishment is saying, pander to the Hispanic vote by letting more illegal aliens in, so they will like you. Think about that line of reasoning for a second. That is a recipe for a cultural death spiral.
Trump is saying what I said about 13 years ago about the greedy and cynical decision to open the border. Democrats, for votes. Republicans, for slave labor.
Also, Trump attacks Washington politicians. There is corporate-government-Wall Street cabal. I'm a capitalist, but at some point you have to decide not to sell the rope by which your enemies will hang you.
Washington DC is a black hole, sucking in money we don't have, to pay for corruption, favors, and fictional assets. To monitor our daily lives, to regulate our morals, to punish us for non-conformity with the Madison Avenue mindset.
Trump is a blow hard who speaks up for the person who goes to work every day, pays taxes, follows the rules, and yet is treated like dirt--like criminal deviants--by the elites.
My take is, if the only thing Trump does is shut down the border, that's a good thing.
War with China? Global warming? Iran nuking neighbors? Nuclear destruction? Incompetent leadership?
Those are secondary issues to me.
