I believe....though I may have it wrong....that it is against the 'rules' to ADVERTISE the acceptability of other forms of payment, but that checks and MOs are not actually prohibited. I can't imagine WHY they would be pushin' the use of Paypal.....unless, it could conceivably have something to do with the fact that they bought it.....

THIS is the key, the semantics:
" Payment methods not allowed on eBay:
For most categories, sellers can't ask buyers to:
Send cash through the mail
Send cash or money orders through instant, point-to-point cash transfer services (that are not banks) such as Western Union or MoneyGram
Mail checks or money orders (except for items in categories specifically permitted below)
"
**Note that a 'seller can't ask buyers..." Thus, there is nothing in the policies that prohibit a BUYER from requesting that a check or MO be accepted....!

- As an aside, ain't it exciting to find that ebay has decided to charge the final value fee on the entire payment, including.....yes, the SHIPPING cost portion. That, as they assert, to encourage lower shipping charges. Wonderful. Great strategy: When operating under a business model that, necessarily, involves outside sellers/suppliers, KEEP tweaking and stroking the selling policies to make it more difficult for them to operate effectively/profitably.
