Summer is at our doors, the brain of the styleman slowly awakens from its wintry torpor
Soon it will be the time of short dresses and shorter nights, cold beers and heated thoughts
It will be the time of mind-wandering, of crazy ideas and half-dreamed entreprises
It will be the time of

The very Official and Awesome DIY thread

A time for leather sleeved RLBL blazers, pillowcase tees and nylon djellabas, machine washed monks and cut out oxfords, dyed, bleached, paint splattered anything... or wathever else floats your boat. It will however not be a time for lame ass BoO shirt tailoring, unless you're planning on adding a third sleeve or making the collar unzippable.

Ok, that's it for now. Feel free to post/link old projects and I'll update the OP

Love it, Sipang. Can't wait to see pantser's entries. Here are a few of mine: Bleached APC jeans (see waywt)

Edit: I don't remember the ratio of bleach to water that I used, but it was pretty strong. You can always add more bleach to your water bath. I left these folded up in a bucket for about 3 days, and refreshed the water/bleach mixture about 3 times. Gold leaf Mezlan lace-ups

Soaked/distressed F+B boots

Other things have included button downs with the sleeves removed, shredded AA tanks, and who knows what else. I'll be sure to try some more stuff this summer, including (hopefully) the incredibly late completion of the fremen cloak.

Hi Synthese, cool bleached jeans! What was the ratio of water / bleach that you soaked them in? I've never bleached anything before, but I might need to try this out!

Edited 1st post because people ask that a lot. Good luck! You can also just run a faded pair of jeans through a washer or dryer 4 or so times while adding bleach. If you have a top-loader, soak them first and pour a couple of cups in - that will give you a much more uniform, less drastic fade.

Gold leaf shoes are probably the best thus far. I'd like to see them with more leafing on the sides of the soles as well.

It's just regular shoes with gold leaf applied on them I think. Thanks to Synthese for kicking this off on a high note. I remember PinkPantser had some great dying projects, gonna try to find those.

Everytime I see this, I think of Synthese's damn Fremen gear project. Finish that faster, or at least post some progress pics man.
