Is the marketing behind the iphone so good that people will actually buy one then figure out how to turn it into a blackberry?

No, but I think people like the BBM platform even though they hate everything else about their Blackberry.

I use "whatsapp". Just starting to get used to it now, haven't noticed any huge annoyances or differences.

I just switched to an iPhone from a Blackberry, and I do miss my BBM.

Man I really hope so. The Blackberry Playbook can run Android apps, so that def lends to the possibility that RIM might hook Android up in some way. If it ever happens it will no doubt be stripped in some way, at least at launch.

My friends who have Android Blackberries and iPhones all use Whats App. I'm still on my stupid out-dated Palm Pre and they don't have the app so I feel like I have no friends now. However, Whats App is pretty cool and gets the job done for my friends, who mostly used to use BBM.

The one thing annoyance I have with it is when you receive a message there is no immediate "reply" button, you have to close the notification, then open the app, and click on "chats" and wait for it to connect and then you can reply. Would be nice to save a few steps and go right to reply.
