Official blake x RЯL officer chino contest - Page 27

I was in Context last night and smallest I saw was 32...which I bought....so now 33 is looks to be as small as they have, but I could be wrong so it might be worth checking.

Love these pants, can't wait to really start breaking them in. I've gotten bored with the whole jeans thing a little and wanted something different. These are going to get treated like a new pair of raw denim for me. I'll wear them most days, avoid washing when I can, and just generally wear the crap out of them. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

^ You know what's weird, I got measurements from Context and according to them, 32 and 33 measure exactly the same (waist, thigh, knee etc). So someone looking for a 32 might be able to do a 33. FYI

Just got back from Blake, they had a 29 or 28 (can't remember) and a 36.

i've really been slacking wearing these. honestly it's been in 90s for about 2 weeks running with humidity levels that rival a rainforest.

+1. also got them slimmed down which doesn't help. oh and the buttons are popping off. anyone here having problems with buttons? I don't know why RRL went with sewable buttons. You effectively have a pair of jean and jeans need rivet buttons to account for the tough fabric.

btw, SF 2.0 = ffffuuuu.gif

Hrmmm, is it possible to add rivet buttons? That'd be pretty cool.
I'm sure if you can find rivet buttons of the right size it could be done pretty easily actually. My buttons seem very secure so far, but I do wish they were riveted instead. My EP's Rivet chinos have that (which is maybe why they are called Rivet) and they are fantastic and much easier to button/unbutton.

oh well, still loving these officers chinos. This is my second RRL purchase (first was a shawl collar cardigan from the Lighthouse collection) and I've been pretty impressed.

Was the waist stretch on these ever pinned down?

Are we talking like .5"-1" ?

I would say 1" - 1.5"

It's interesting that everyone's consensus is that these run bigger than prior RRL officer chinos. Than last season's selvage chino or than the non-selvage Officer's chino that RRL makes every season? I've found that they run about a size smaller than the latter, in which I wear a 30. But I got a 31 in these, since the waist in measurably smaller, maybe due to the waistband's being reinforced...

Btw, Stan Van B., don't alter. They look great as is and if you're looking for a chino that tapers more than 1" from the knee down, buy a cheaper, skinny style that (Levis 511) which these are not.

Last season's chino actual size is tagged size + 2", this season's is tagged size +1", so it makes sense that you had to wear 30 and 31 respectively. This season the legs appear to be cut slightly fuller.

^Ah that makes sense, and the legs to these do indeed seem slightly fuller than my standard officer's regardless of the larger size.

Hello all. I just wanted to personally check in with all of you and let you know what is going on with getting more chino's.

I just got back from NYC and had a long discussion with them regarding the lack of available chinos. I think we were probably part of the problem. We started this contest and sold way more chinos than they anticipated. I also think my friends at Context were also selling the chinos at the same time. We basically took all of their stock. The only good news is luckily we had placed a order for them for fall (which should be coming soon). The bad news is that we probably did not order enough. They are not going to have stock again until NOVEMBER. The only reason they are even going to have stock at that point is because they are going to push production forward on some of the spring ones.

The bottom line is this. We have one small run coming in soon and then will place a order that will come in November. If you would like to be a part of that run, please let us know. We will be placing a buy for that this week.

One last thing. Look for a special RRL/BLAKE announcement in our other thread. We have what I think is some exciting news to announce.
