I finally boght a pair of white pants, now what

They were a impulse buy, and I thought I would wear them in lieu of khaki pants with a sport coat this spring.

I normally wear white shirts, but I feel this will be to bright, and a tie would not break up the mono tone enough if I ever take the jacket off. The obvious solution is to wear one of my light purple or blue shirts, but I thought I'd play around and see if I could still get away with a white shirt with the use of a light weight sweater vest, but I'm just not sure.

I'm visiting friends in Florida in a few weeks and would like to be confident packing them.

Suggestions?

They are light cotton trousers. I only were jean's when I'm doing some sort of outside work, so white jeans are out of the question for me lol.
