AMC's The Killing - Page 18

Has anyone who's watched the original Danish and the new US tell me how closely they track? I just finished the Danish show and it was fantastic. Fucking excellent.

Starts out on a similar track but diverges very quickly for obvious reasons (one being that the murderer is different others being that some things just wouldn't work culturally if you moved the setting to america...when was the last time you saw a high school host an event in the gym that served copious amounts of alcohol to students).

Did you watch the second mystery of the danish series? I enjoyed that as well and am looking forward to the third

Hopefully not. A terrible ending for a terrible show (or, perhaps, a perfect ending for the show?).

Watching it made me think of whoever posted that MC WAYRN is smalltimers dressed up in bigtimers' clothes. That's exactly what The Killing is. A pretentious, overwrought show that strives for something it could never become.

Loved the cinematography and thought the Larsen's watching Rosie's film at the end was a really great scene.

Yea I really did enjoy the way they filmed the large outdoor shots, as someone who has never been to Seattle I thought it was great.

Word is that it will be shopped to other networks.  If this is the end, I can't say I'll be bummed about not having a third season.  While the show was flawed, I enjoyed it on the whole, and was satisfied with how the mystery was wrapped up.  No need for more.

Maybe netflix can pick it up. satisfied.gif

Their "release a whole season at once" model would work great for a show like The Killing.

And totally new case except for Kinneman I guess? Interesting show but glad it's gone. It had no real future.

After the show received backlash from viewers for stretching the resolution of the case from the first season into Season 2, the producers are committing that the new case in Season 3 will be resolved over the course of 12 episodes. Production on Season 3 begins February 25 in Vancouver.

A year after closing the Rosie Larsen case, Linden is no longer a detective. But when her ex-partner Stephen Holder’s search for a runaway girl leads him to discover a gruesome string of murders that connects to a previous murder investigation by Linden, she is drawn back into the life she thought she’d left behind.

I am cautiously optimistic.  Hopefully Holder will get more screen time than Linden.

Just finished Ep 01/02 last night... It was very intense and unrelenting and that was after breaking it up into two or three viewings. Not optimistic they can maintain this.
