Foreign stereotypes about your country

I happened to be Russian in a foreign society... if I try to count how many times this dialog took place: "why aren't you drinking? I thought you're Russian!" "yes, I am, but it's not really connected" I'll probably count more than 100 times. I noticed that foreigners are rich in stereotypes about Russia, but I guess it's more or less the case about every country in the world. What stereotypes have you met about your home country?

Russian family in imagination of a foreigner: - Honey, I'm home! - But why so late? - Our bear has injured his leg on the way home, so I had to stop and to get him some vodka. - I see. Ok, everybody take places! Let's drink vodka. - Mom, may I go to play with the bear? - Sure, but have vodka firstly. - By the way, where is our grand father? - He's been standing in the line for coupons on coupons for 2 weeks already. - It's good that he had vodka before he left! And you also don't sit here doing nothing, better have some vodka! - Ok, go have a walk son, but don't forget to write a report to the KGB by this evening! And buy some vodka on the way home - we're running out of it. - Honey, it's kind of hot. Can you please turn off the nuclear reactor? - Sure, I'll finish vodka and turn it off, while you'll be playing balalaika.

Interesting. I kind like to tell people of the stereotypes I harbor of their country, so first:

Russians in my mind...
Love birch trees because it reminds them of their homeland.
Play chess well, or just play chess.
Have loud arguments over seemingly trivial things such as the fastest route to a place.
Can be very loyal, though it is nearly impossible to get to this point, but once you earn a Russian's trust, you got it made with that person.

All Indians are good at maths , from CE discussion

are you: 1. good at math? and 2. presently glued to the TV for the World Cup final?

I read an article about Indians going crazy over Warren Buffet. This further reinforced a stereotype I harbor of them: they are like robots when it comes to desiring material things. I suppose this is more recent what with India undergoing a new money phenomena.

It's like saying "The Irish are Drinkers" or "Jews are Cheap" or African-Americans are angry with a Chip on thier shoulder...

Of course we know that these are only Myths...

What's the stereotypes for Taiwanese I can't think of any to be honest with you (at least in America or Europe, there are certainly plenty in Mainland and other parts of Asia about how Taiwanese are).
