Alden Modified Last: If You Wear, or are Interested, Please Read - Page 76

I thought I would post a picture of the modified last chukka that I got from Japan. I am selling them on styleforum in case anyone is interested.  I paid over $800 for them. Asking $450.  Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong size.  They are 9D.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Too bad they don't fit you.  They are quite nice and I'd buy them if they were my size.  I love the makeups Alden does for Japan.

Hey they look good.
I prefer them to the Trubalance last.

Who regularly stocks modified last, other than Anatomica? Everywhere I seem to contact says they have no more or doesn't have anything other than a plain cap toe.

These days Moulded has very little, I visited two weeks ago. I'd love a pair of wing tips or medallion captoes. Modified Last is the only thing I can find that doesn't kill my feet, so I have no alternatives. Thanks.

I'd be happy to order from Asia and even overpay a bit.. I don't know what else I can wear these days. Everything else I buy I end up wasting since they hurt.

If you're willing to wait, you could get on a list at Moulded. Rafael usually has quite a few make ups on the Modified in the queue. Unless things have changed, as it's been over a year since I've ordered from him.

Thanks, I'll have to ask, they've never offered to put me on any list and I've been shopping there for several years.

Moulded had a couple of dozen pair of "open orders" for a couple of years that would very slowly get added to production one by one.  Then suddenly Alden accepted all the open orders at once and so all the orders were suddenly closed.  They have a couple of open orders currently.  Rafael is thinking about putting together a mailing list for those interested so they can order when they open a new style.  I got caught out short when all those orders were accepted at once and missed the boat.  There were a few styles I was interested in, but it was hard to decide, especially since they are a bit pricey.

Something else I forgot to mention -- I stopped by Anatomica in Paris in May.  They were so nice there.  Unfortunately, I had some plantar fasciitis and anything that touched my foot hurt!

Sorry this pic is a little blurry.
