No, someone paid them the $428 (unless they got it on sale), so its like they aren't losing any money... But, in a sense it is stealing. Either way I don't see why OP just doesn't return it then to get back the extra $208.

You probably don't need the receipt to receive store credit, if you were wanting a refund then of course.

Don't think that's possible. I bought the $3900 shell cordovan clutch a few years ago for next to nothing and it included the tag. I highly doubt I'd be able to get a $3900 credit for that. That would've been awesome.

Most stores, if you do not need the receipt, will give credit for the lowest price it has ever sold for. However, not to return it but to use it, this Wallet has me thinking. I just think it would still be too bulky in my pocket.

I have one of the BB Shell Cordovan wallets, not the long wallet. It's great. I get tons of compliments because of the contrasting colors. It has been very durable, too.
