stock photos I haven't eaten a good fish and chips in like 20 years, but to me when I was growing up, that is generally what it should look like, the fish at least. Small little whiting, kinda like a cod, the fillets are quite small but a good size for F+C nonetheless. The chips though.... they should be soft and kinda bent up from sweating themselves for a minute in the packaging, and it should all be wrapped in yesterday's paper with a couple lemon wedges

this is kinda more as I remember fish and chips to be like, fairly similar i guess: pineapple round, and potato scallop (these are the shit) and then a fish n chips serving.

Need a really good Chicken Vindaloo (with potatoes) right now. The best chicken vindaloo I've probably ever had was through some small doorway in Queensway in London that went back to some huge dining hall, just long benches with tons of people eating like a cafeteria, curry was 5 pounds a plate, everything else cheap. Luckily, there are other passable Chicken Vindaloos out there.

want a tamarind-spiked light soup to just sip on right now. Indian tomato rasam with a lot of minced cilantro, or something chicken broth based with a tamarind juice and tomato flesh in it.

curry katsu and jjajangmyun are about the two heartiest, stick to your ribs kind of Asian food I know of off the top of my head. I guess there might be more, but so few dishes require you to take in that much starch and fat automatically without thinking and stopping, or being saddled by liquid calories like the soupy stuff. I still think it's a shame no one adds chestnut bits to stew and a poached egg on top to jjajang, it'd be the perfect setup. Really salty jjajang over noodles, crunchy chestnut, runny egg to run with the sauce - free idea for anybody down to cook something like that. They always cop out over here, add like 10 shreds of cucumber, maybe some green peas...
