I just don't get it, especially considering it is supposedly the best look for summer (when my feet get the most sweaty).

Is there some logic behind this?

I can see a lot of logic on why this wouldn't be a good idea...sanitary, smelly, callouses, uncomfortable...etc.

If this topic has been addressed before..I apologize...I did do a search.

Simple...it's a different summery look and your feet stay a little cooler.
FYI..many men do the "mini soc" that don't show so the sweat/sanitary part of it is eliminated.

I love the look... But personally I wear a pair of socks that basically cover the bottoms and sides of my feet... I can't recall the name, but they're fantastic!

People want to show off that their feet don't get smelly and sweaty, and that they can endure a little discomfort while you cannot.

To me its a functional way to add a little sprezz. Your feet aren't encumbered by some sticky, hot socks, and you get just the right amount of sprezz in a business environment. 2 birds, 1 stone.

try loafer socks, they give you the no sock look without having to go sockless.

I was walking today in Mayfair and it was cold and raining cats and dogs, this guy was eating outside a posh restaurant wearing loafers without socks...

Sprezz or not , he did look like a prat...

Depending on where you live, on a hot summer day there is a world of difference between wearing full size socks and the loafer socks.

Socks:
I do not like them in a loafer.
I do not like them with a buck.
I do not like them as a golfer.
I do not like them when I...
I do not like them here or there.
I do not like them anywhere.
I do not like them, Trad I am.
