Besides the above suggestions, I would recommend that you wash your neck with soap every time you shower. You will notice that your collars will become significantly less soiled if you do this. It also helps to apply detergent directly to the inside of your collars, add water, then work up a lather before laundering.

I absolutely LOVE non-iron shirts. I'm not looking to debate that. Since I wash these shirts at home, the collar stains do not come out as well as a laundered shirt. I use budget detergent, so I might need to upgrade, or apply something directly to the collar area. What do you use to make sure the collar is as clean as taking it to the local cleaners for $2?

Everything else is doable, but I find the deodorant stains to be a real bugger. I have not yet found the, ahem, solution to this problem, how to clean them out without being excessively hard on the shirt. Where I live is hot and humid twelve months of the year, and this is a real headache. P

Hair shampoo works for some ring around the collar problems.
