SF as a networking venue

I am curious how many of you, through SF connection, found yourself a job, hired somebody, landed a client, closed a business deal, sold/bought real estate, got someone hired... And have anyone made business connection thru SF local meet-ups? Routine B&S activities don't count.

I've found stores and online shopping sites. Do those count?

No business on SF other than a few minor B & S purchases and sales.

I have made a couple of IRL friends.

If you are looking for an online networking venue that is good for business and professional opportunities, I would recommend linkedin.com

I'm a law student, an environment where connections are more mercenary than any I've ever seen. I so hope that doesn't happen here.

I now make a comfortable living thanks to SF.

I kid. Since my indoctrination, I buy more clothes that no one gives a damn about in the real world, except the occasional fashonista, who is usually gay (oddly both male and female).
