Works a little better than the Kiton IMO due to the less stark light/dark contrast...

And I have the exact opposite opinion - sorry Cary G! :worship:

To me it would have worked better if the trousers were either just barely off white or navy. Something about the current trousers is just a bit meh for me.

Perhaps a shoe with a little more interest would have helped as well - it's bit 'busy on top' and 'bland on bottom'.

Not that it's bad or anything - just might be stronger with some tweaks.

There - now you have to conflicting opinions - what could be more helpful than that!!!! :D

not bad. id probably try something in a different color rather than a darker shade of grey. Maybe something in blue or red? I saw someone wearing a yellow waistcoat with a navy suit and a maroon tie...looked spot on. Ive wanted to try this out myself as well.

Not bad.......but I think this idea works better when the waistcoat is an 'accent piece' to the coat. Not so much like in this case where it simply looks as if you took the waistcoat from one suit and used it with the other.

In other words, I think the waistcoat should be a patterned fabric like a check, plaid, etc. hopefully with a little extra texture to contrast with the solid fabric of the coat. Knitted items can also serve this purpose well. Conversely, if the jacket were patterned and textured then a smoother finished and solid waistcoat would be a nice contrast.

Methinks nay. It just looks like you pulled the vest from a different suit and put it on, sorta like wearing a suit jacket as an odd jacket (BlazerSuit

notwithstanding).

Well it actually is a waistcoat from another suit, this was the first time i was trying to do this,if i'll like this style i may get more waistcoats but i think checked or other color waistcoat differentiating heavily from the suit will make it too casual,no?Also i wear sometimes suit jackets and pants as separates, mostly plain ones, may be it's a deadly sin here but it's ok for me :)
Also i would appreciate very much some feedback on suit, fit and generally to overall attire(tie, shirt,ps),because I'm quite new to this and would like some recommendations.

I know you like your patterns, HF, but I think the top part is just too busy now. I hope you don't mind me doing this:

I think it makes the outfit a bit more balanced. Qu'est-ce que vous en pensez?

Nothing like a little hurricane preparation after work to keep you on your toes.
Thanks for the stormtracker MBreinin! :)

Damn iPhone can't get the color of this tie right in the full length shot, but it's accurate in the first one below.

Very fine Tom Ford suit Spoo, would be curious to see how black wingtips rock with that outfit.

In case anyone was curious, there's a brand-spanking-new Nordstrom opening here in Nashville on September 16, and I am working there selling ties and such. :)

Hey bb, do you ever wear your Drakes or your Pantas on the Nordstrom sales floor?

The pants are off. They are too full around the leg and slightly too long. I really like the coat--is it Isaia bamboo?

It may be the photo, but the bottom portion of your pants looks odd. Maybe a smaller leg opening and/or hem the bottom a bit may help with the issue. The jacket appears to be fuller cut and rather roomy and you appeared to be rather skinny in your photo, I'd would suggest visiting a tailor and have it slim down but that depend upon your personal taste and the purpose of your wear.
Thank you for reading and I hope my constructive criticism does not offend you, otherwise my apology is present in advance.

I can't get into this whole like button thing yet, so sorry for the long multi.

[

Based on the lapels I would guess you were promoted the president of your firm. What's the make of the suit - RL? Nice tie too.

Thanks man. The suit is a vintage Tom Ford for Gucci. It had some extensive work done to it, but its one of my favorites. I bought it on B&S for $100 shortly after I joined, can you believe?

Slight rope in the shoulder?

Oh yeah.

Your jacket's grown wings! Love it. Of your recent looks, this is my favorite. I'm a big fan of single-breasted with peak lapels.

I certainly appreciate that man. Hold on to your seat for fall then if you like SB PL's :)

Trying something a bit different

Another valiant effort, but I am just not feeling this, H. I don't think that really any other patterns should be used when playing around with this suit, save for a floral PS to balance the geometry in the jacket/pants. On the plus side, this gives you free reign to dance around with the color. I think this would be totally awesome as a suit, with a pale pink tie and a hunter green tie. But thats me. :)

Thanks - and yeah, perhaps the next time.

Thank you kind sir - Ermenegildo Zegna.
