Nice jackets, Dennis Walker and Kevinsp8. I really like your gray (linen?) pants too, Acrid, but they might be even nicer if a little tapered. PG, you look great as always imo. I really want to DTO the gray/brown sport coat w/ blue checks. Is it a linen blend? You're right that they match the shoes and pants in color, but he's right about them matching in terms of sharing a pattern. Imho, a common mistake on SF is to have things match too much in size. I'll give you an example. On the first page of pocketsquareguy's pocket square thread, Spoo posted a bunch of great looks. But one that got a large amount of compliments was this one:

In a lot of ways, it's really beautiful. Each piece is excellent. But all together, it was my least favorite of the looks in that post, because the size of the stripes were virtually the same and thus to matchy imo in the shirt, suit, and pocket square edge. That said, as an exercise in matching patterns, it's impressive. Btw, JapanAlex, the little green thumb's up buttons are to indicate you like a post, not to post snide commentary (except perhaps in DT).
Some of those looks he posted are very nice. IMO, the problem with the one you quoted isn't the similarity in scale, but the stripe itself. It isn't very aesthetically pleasing.

These shoes are gorgeous... details? I really like the tie, but then I would. Pants seem not enough contrast to jacket. And is there some oversaturation post-imaging work going on?

Work today: (1st pic is truer to color, it has some yellow in it).

Wear a Panama outside and finish the look :) I like this kind of suit during Summer, they are smashing

Thanks! It's a guitar pick tin, believe it or not. (I don't smoke.) My wife gave it to me yesterday—it was our anniversary—so I thought I'd include it in the collage.
At the risk of getting über-sappy, here's what's inside:
Please tell me you've written at least one song for that thoughtful girl.

Sup guys. Took the day off to watch the ******, and been working on a number of projects, so Im way behind in posting. Will catch up later tonight or tomorrow. Its insanely hot, like 115 out right now. What do you do with a 2 year old who wants to be outside all day and you cant? I already went to Chuck E Cheese this morning. :uhoh:

Briefly -

Matt - thanks, I never thought about the correlation between the socks and tie being too matchy matchy. But I wasnt thinking about much that morning except when to go to sleep.
Fritz - Saying those socks are not business like is ridiculous. I dont own more business like socks. But whatevs.
MTM - Thanks for dredging up that pinstripe fit
Lufty - Great suit, not a fan of the texture stripe white shirt (I think all white shirts should be plain), but the tie/suit/square is great. You look badass. Suede shoes just look so hot today though.
Kevin - Go 2 shades lighter on the shirt, and swap the square for something lighter overall and it would have been a smash. Your suit and shoes are so pale, then there is this dark expanse under your neck, just looks off. But you look like you got some sun, good for you!
NDW - Good stuff the other day
IST - I like the jacket, FWIW
Phatty - That suit is the bees knees. Winrar all around. Tell Meercat to stay cool here. I dig the scotchy shells.
Threadbearer - Spoo and the Sycophants World Tour '12 - get booking it. I need an acoustic gig.

IST- you always seem to make it work though the quality of that pick makes it difficult to judge, I feel like there are too many patterns happening there...not sure the shoulders are your best.

^I like this look a lot too, Lufty. I wonder though, if some chestnut longwings might go better w/ it. But maybe I'm crazy.

Thank you, Diavolo. I'm glad you aren't pulling punches now that you've reverted back to your old username.

Btw, your fit pics were among my favorite.

Thank you.

I've learnt that my latest response is as critical as I'm allowed to be. It seems I'm still here so I'll stick with vanilla commentary from now on.

The Barney/Scotch method is well documented in Psychology Today as well as any number of AMA journals.
