I like this a lot! I know it's probably your taste, but I prefer slightly more tapered trousers (below the knees at least). Still better than the last fit, IMO. Also, tuck that PS in a bit! Aside from that, a very nice fit! Very nice colour palette (this is how it's done, people! Solid shirt with patterned tie and visa versa!), and I'm lovin' this sunglasses-tucked-in craze ATM! :thumbs-up:

Today - dammed hotter than yesterday. Client meetings all day, so no need to formal court wear - though I bet I could get away with in on a friday in this 100+ degree weather. PS is outta control in the first shot. I tamed it.

Where's the tommy gun?

Very nice, and over here would be perfectly acceptable for State Court appearances.

Unbearably hot. I was outside for 15min prior to taking this shot and sweat right through my shirt and suit. I've thought about taking in the waist and slimming the sleeves on this coat slightly because I think it would improve the overall fit , but since it is strictly a hot weather suit I have left it looser fitting to allow for more circulation. Truly a form over function question.

You should crosspost this in the dearly departed conservative business dress thread.

Also should go in the conservative business dress thread.
Within what I perceive to be your aesthetic, I think this is one of your most successful efforts.
5th day in a row & rain to continue for the weekend = disaster for the Wallabies v Springboks

Another one for the conservative business dress. Let's revitalize that thread!
PS and shoes seem to be a bit of a disconnect with the rest of the pretty nice outfit.

Digging it, Lufty. The suedes look particularly nice with this.

It was raining the today hence the chukka boots and the Filson 257 stuffed with my trench as sun came during the afternoon.

This jacket isn't doing it for me. The small checks aren't great. Big ones have more personality, go big(ger) or go home. Also, the stitching is quite a bit too flashy and the shoulders a way too pronounced.

Stitching like that is meant to mimic high quality, traditional goods. When they are done well, they are done with a very light hand. The problem is that, these days, where you have an intersection of people who didn't grow up dressing, and who want to mark for the world that they are now monied (to whatever degree) they prefer the more obvious look of very pronounced stitching, which, to them, screams -- "look, I bought an expensive jacket." To me, it screams a coarseness of taste.

Yes, you are absolutely right:
1. At me disgusting taste
2. My jacket - a cheap fake which to aspire to look expensive thing
3. I need to burn this jacket urgently
4. I need to be shot
Thanks for interesting comments!

Hey, he asked. I forgot that people don't necessarily want help improving. My bad.

I don't remember reading any of these things in Matt's post. You're taking it rather personally, yes?

I didn't realize this was a craze - I just need a place to put my glasses where they won't end up drenched in perspiration.

Exactly. I was simply talking about the genealogy of a certain clothing issue. BTW, your suit today looks great.

Thanks. It has cheap fake pickstitching - but I'm glad that flew under the radar. :hide: (Also, it is a cheap suit).

^I like this look a lot too, Lufty. I wonder though, if some chestnut longwings might go better w/ it. But maybe I'm crazy.
This is utter nonsense.

If everyone is two inches away sure the stripes can be seen to be the same width but, in practical terms from normal viewing distance the shirt and suit would be totally compatible.

Same with the socks and tie - who on earth would connect the pattern on those two items IRL ?

Thank you, Diavolo. I'm glad you aren't pulling punches now that you've reverted back to your old username.

Btw, your fit pics were among my favorite.

I hope you are wearing an undershirt with that or that's the only time you spent outside today. I just walked to get lunch around Lenox and was sweating ****** off.

Great look though. Very trad. Only thing I might consider is a pair of pants a shade lighter. That PS with that bowtie is killer.

This is like an 11/10. Why wasn't this quoted 10000000 times? ******* awesome.

Thanks Moo! I think the block user function has something to do with it
