I don't understand which rules you are breaking - maybe wearing a vest in summer? - but you are a master of combinations!
Orphaned suit jacket with denim, maybe? I'm not sure either, but I'm here to learn.
The "rule" was wearing a pinstripe odd jacket, which is ordinarily a big no no. However, as always, PG shows that GMS works for him no matter the rules. Not like what happens when I break the rules and come out looking like an avocado was trying to hump a banana in an orange tree  Also, PG is in Australia, where it is winter, hence the vest.

^^ No pin/chalk stripe odd jackets...they always look like orphaned suit coats, that said, I'm not sure where this guide line came from?
There's at least one old esquire/apparel arts illustration/ article about travel suits that has a bold striped suit being split into separates, so it wasn't always the case?
Thanks for the compliments on yesterdays fit, the tie was a Panta from one of Ed's earlier runs

I see. I didn't know that. Now I feel a little shame about the fact that I have put on a pinstripe odd jacket often and even today. :embar: Many thanks.

^^ to be sure, it's a good rule of thumb as it usually looks frankly ridiculous. But like most rules of thumb, I don't think it should be hard and fast.

Seeing several people posting suits in that off-navy shade of blue is really tempting me to consider one. Is yours a herringbone weave?

All right, then: In honor of the new site...

Dress shirt: Prada

Two good looks from all-too-rare posters in the thread these day. The Prada shirt is especially nice.

Last night was terrific. Took the missus out to dinner and then to the Strathmore for an evening with the Fab Faux. Highly recommended: http://www.classicalmysterytour.com/. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.

Ready to go:

Looking good Thread.

I also bought those Emma Willis ties from hikari013 (orange, teal, blue, purple) they are great! Highly recommended. Wore the teal one yesterday and had two compliments on it before I even reached the office door.
