Yeah that's why I snatched it up while I had the cash! I've never heard of the brand before (14th & Union) but the quality seems to be pretty good and the fit was near spot on and for an extra $10 the hemmed the trou on the spot! I've been pretty lucky with Nordstrom Rack as my last suit I got was also from there a Ben Sherman Wool/Linen blend for about $150.

We'll see how it goes. I really do like cycling, that's not too bad.

To be honest, I just threw on the SC and liked what I saw. Normally I go for a more monochromatic look.

I venture a guess that no particular care was taken here regarding the color/tone of the band-aid vis-a-vis that of the suit, resulting in a close match that could, to the uninitiated observer, connote the taking of extra care to achieve a match, i.e., anti-sprezzatura. That is not to discount the possibilty of reverse anti-sprezzatura which can be practiced only by an individual so well known for sprezzatura that he can plan a match of this sort knowing that it will be taken by observers as accidental or careless, i.e., sprezzatura.

Cotton/linen suit is heavier than expected but doesn't wrinkle much, and will look better with lighter coloured shoes which are expected soon:

PS too matchy, next time it will be blue:

Not bad, TWD. I think that the hard three doesn't quite fit the overall mood of the fit, though.

no denim shots, edited out

In the next one, I want to illustrate the importance of high armholes and MTM shirts. Having a shirt that fits you perfectly is one of the most satisfying and liberating sartorial experiences. I present you two identical photos, taken before I left home and after I came back from dancing salsa for 4 hours straight. Note that the shirt hasn't been tweaked or re-tucked once. In fact, I don't even remember thinking about it once. Of course, it's not ideal, but it stayed tucked in and looked decent in real life (worse in the photo). Just imagine what would your OTR shirt look like after 4 hours of salsa.

i appreciate what you're trying to do here, but that shirt looks far too tight on you. can you even breathe?

That pretty much sums it up.

Great suit, Voxy. I noticed the looser cut and wondered, contra HF, if a small nip in the waist would be an improvement.

Like I said, a perfectly fitting shirt is the most liberating sartorial experience. Your clothes fit you well when you cease thinking about them. That's something I've accomplished with my shirts and trousers, but not yet accomplished with shoes and suits.

To answer your question, I can breathe fine, but can't really gain any significant weight. I consider that a plus, though. Having so many shirts gives me an extra financial reason to stay in shape.

I've seen a few things from that brand in the closer rack, don't know about the quality but the fit and the style were nice.

Congrats on a very nice looking suit.

minus the things stuffed in your pocket - i think it actually fits you better, and is more proportionally in tune with your pents than a lot of your other jackets. i'd say keep it.

- yellow is just not working with the khaki
- been said before, but you will benefit from a 3 roll 2 or a hard 2 roll. the hard 3 is dated and make you look extremely stuffy.
- you could try one and post and see what the forum consensus is.

- great comment.
- i didnt think Spoo's choice of tie was that bad. it was a little safe compared to the mass of blue, but far from bad.
- Spoo i wish you would look into altering the patterns of those patch pockets on your s/cs and suits. they are lifeless.

your suit jackets still need some work - particularly in the shoulders.

nice wheels Spoo.

You have been MIA and you need to post a pic, like tomorrow man.

- Thank you - yes it was safe, but I happen to like blue and purple together, I felt it worked at the end of the day
- Had to play it safe as it was day 1 back from 10 day vacation and had to crack skulls for slacking while I was gone and report carnage upstairs - cant do that successfully in red pents (other option for today)
- I lurve my wheels

As you can tell by the shadow, the day was already half over. I'm still training the lapels to change from a true 3 button to a 2 roll 3.

Damned thing kept hiding in the pocket all day until I took these pics. Perky little punk. The color next to the blue ovals is actually gray, not the khaki like the sc color.

^^^ Oddly, I am constantly pulling the sleeves down to cover the cuffs yet when it's time to take photos...

Except for the one color in the tie, the rest of the colors are true, including my skin tone.

Diggers - I wish that you would have some sort of fire sale, purge yourself of most of your thrift finds, save the cash you take thrifting for a month and put it towards some new stuff. You have the right ideas, great intentions, a thick skin, and seemingly a willingness to learn. Looking good does not equate to spending thousands, its about spending what you can on what works for you. These dated ties and bland, generic, well.... discards are exactly that.

When you posted that navy suit a few weeks ago, you looked fantastic. I think you should stick with that vibe. Your face, age, and general persona let you carry a look much more bold than you allow. You most likely are not going to find these pieces at a Salvation Army. I say this with the very best of intentions and with no disrespect intended - just trying to help.

How much do you spend a month thrifting? $100? $300? $500? Put yourself on pause for a month and start a cookie jar with the money you would have taken with you on your finding sprees. After 2 months, take the dough in the jar, and either go to a B&M store that has current season, NWT items, or load up your paypal acct and I can help you find some places to max out that dough. Seriously - you have the potential - use it.
