Yet another blue SC outfit. Yes, I've worn this jacket in another post, but I wanted to try it out with a different combination (next time it will be a totally new ensemble).

The pictures are of varied quality.

The tie also looks great, deets please.
Thanks. Have to take a better picture of the fit next time. The jacket is a bit stretched, not too much for my taste though. And the tie is Alain Figaret, thrifted.

Cheers! Maybe argyle wasn't the best choice, thanks for the note.

I follow the traditional rules. If I am inside a commerical or public space then I always keep my hat on inside: unless I am in a restaurant where I am being seated at a table(not a diner, cafe or bakery). I also take my hat off if I am in a courtroom, or inside an elevator when there is a lady present. If I am in somebody's house I always take my hat off aswell as any intimate setting.

Ok so part of my point is whether the underwear pic is/is not a joke, it's that a lot of the posts are just bad in the context/theme of this thread. A lot of guys don't understand color nor what colors are good for your complexion. Fits are generally bad, either too tight or just bad for your body type. Newbs are quick to yell "circle jerk!" when a vox posts a fit but his fit is good and his color coordination is impeccable. His fits always look spot on. Yes his stuff is bespoke but then there is Orgetix, Lufty who thrift stuff and have a lot more hits than misses. Phat Guido, who gets universal praise, came here with a different manner of dress and grew into the fits you see now. NY Ranger took a lot of criticism, both constructive and assholish when he came on and he just kept at it, learned and evolved into what he posts today. Skinny ****** was attacked all the time for his fits, he is now a RL poster boy. Guys like AlanC, Iammatt, whoopee, zip, mao, omega, doc, zbromer, yfyf, foo and a slew of others no longer post. Those are guys that I and a lot if other people took inspiration from. Now we have posters with purple and green dress shirts, gaudy ties, ill fitting everything with no concept of the foundations of what dressing classically means. You can't go from birth to wearing a purple suit. Now if classic mens clothing is being expanded here to include everything under the sun, then that is fine but it's different direction from what this thread was about.

while i dont disagree with you one iota, i imagine the forum was much smaller and closer knit back then. a larger audience will affect changes like the ones you refer to.

I like how this looks very conventional blazer-gray pants combo from a distance and then interesting textures / patterns appear when one gets close.

Thanks. This is my last (non-casual) RTW shirt; the collar's definitely has a narrower spread than my usual ones. It's also less trim through the chest and waist that I'd like, and the sleeve are perhaps a quarter inch longer than ideal too. However, I just love the wacky colour and details so much that I can't bear to part with it.

Funnily enough I thought about using a pink square but the shoes were already such a different colour to everything else anyway, that I felt that a sort-of-matching square was more appropriate.

Interesting; I must admit I tend to think of that shirt as less formal than most of my others. Firstly, well, it has light purple bengal stripes, which tends to knock the formality level down a bit! Secondly, the contrasting collar, cuffs, and placket, are so eyecatching that it breaks the formality of it even further. I don't know... I tend to think of it as one of my least formal (but still non-casual unlike, say, a button-down or camp-collar) shirts. Thanks for the feedback; I shall ponder further.

Well, as I think he's a great actor I take that as a compliment. Thank you.
