i'm so to say an ambassador for black shoes. also, it's not a flaw to have black laces in a burgundy shoe. today, it's hard to find good laces in the right tone. btw, i like them a lot.

Oh, I just presumed it was a venomous way to say that the shoes were fine but everything else sucked. You never know around here.

Edit: Thank you, I also love black shoes, but as I said, am not totally confident when wearing them with non formal outfits.

Looked at by an observer, it was actually an almost archetypal example of what happens when you create a different visual perception of a shared object in two people's reality, in this case the object being the photo. I perceived something in the photo that the other party did not; a pattern recognition effect leading to an altered concept of the object in my mind, compared to what the other party's concept of the object in question was. The differing perceptual set caused by this optical illusion led to a response (mine) that could not be received in the way I intended it by the other party. From that point out, each set of comments follows a predictable path, culminating in strong(ish) words and cross-purposes. Scaled-up, and used more precisely, it's actually the same process (different perceptual origin points leading to diverging conceptual understandings) that drives humour and people's fascination with optical illusions and paradoxes. It's also what will doom the human race to perpetual conflict due to misunderstanding as we do not perceive the world algorithmically but heuristically, and without perfect theory of mind. On a more individual level, as well as illusions, it's also what in an extreme and unwell case can give rise to a primary delusion from a delusional perception, with the possibility of secondary delusions and a full-blown delusional system arising thereof. However, it's also what gives us hope even in dire adversity, so I would not trade this human trait in for a purely deductive worldview.
