HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 548

Hi Dan,
Your combination of shirt, tie, pocket square is good to go.
Adjustments: Your shirt collar appears to loose - you need a smaller neck size. Your tie knot is a bit large and could use a dimple. Pocket square could be more aligned with the angle of the top of the pocket (or use a looser fold which can be more loosely aligned.) To me, the very simple TV fold you've used is fine but I prefer it when this sort of fold aligns pretty much exacly with the top of the pocket.
Carry on!

I definitely agree with the rest - but I don't think the PS has to be aligned. Personal preference, I suppose, but not aligning it is an exceptionally easy opportunity for sprezz.

Hi, Gdot. Really appreciate your advice.
You're true about the neck size. Problem is, S sized shirts tend to have sleeves that are too short for me so I have to settle with M.
I'm aware of the rather bulgy knot. Believe it or not, that was my second attempt ever in tying a tie so I had no idea how to reduce the size of the knot, let alone creating a dimple. Maybe I should try small knot instead of FIH? FYI, that's a knit tie.
Never mind the pocket square. I actually intended it to align with the pocket but it just wouldn't sit right :/
You can't really get a smaller knot than a FIH. Just tug it (lightly) a little lower to tighten. Couldn't see it was a knit tie - that does make it a bit harder to have a compresses knot.
For a full critique you should post a full length picture.

What colour is that suit? Tealy-grey? Interesting to compare this to the one kevinsp8 posted a while back. I think it shows what difference a more conventional cut and less vivid shade makes. I still don't really like the colour much, but the outfit works very well on its own terms I think.

Some business to take care of today,so....
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Shirt looks nice and relaxed, and the shoes look great too. I find myself wondering if maybe pale grey trousers would be better than the off-white my monitor translates these as. In fact, something in the same colour range as Butler's suit would work well as trousers here I think!
(PS. consider x-posting to the MC Casual thread if you feel like it)

The suit is green!

Im not saying that they are strictly for geriatrics - I was wearing a Huntsman pinstripe DB at the age of 31 - but it has to fit your gravitas. From what Ive seen of Paolos face, he does not seem to have the gravitas to pull one off - but he looks at himself in the mirror in the morning and says it works, so, there you go.
the db isn't a great fit on him ... yes, but i don't even know how the above applies. now people can tell whether a person has gravitas or otherwise from a few posted pics on a message board?
lol.
not a fan of the tie.
I'm glad you got a nice pair of shoes. Now you need to get a couple decent looking ties. Your fit is good, but I'd like to see more shirt cuff while standing straight. Alter the sleeves a bit to get it right.

+1 That's a splendid knot, though.
