First post in this thread. Don't be gentle.

Not too bad to my eyes, Contrafornia--I like the shirt and jacket combination.

I don't particularly like the square or the tie, however, and especially not in combination. The tie has a lot of shine to it and that shade is a hard color to carry; brown, rust, or even bright yellow in a madder tie would be preferable. As for the square, and speaking as one who has difficulty using non-white linen squares effectively, if you cannot identify precisely what a square adds to your fit, it's probably detracting.  In this case, it's too close in shade to your tie to add very much.

This pocket square would be deemed highly patriotic over on the Australian Members thread.

Suit and shoes are great.  I think the tie doesn't work well with the pinstripes.  The tan/grey windowpane in the tie looks to be the exact same size and color as the pinstripes in the suit.  Almost a continuation.  The square is nice, but I don't think it works well with the outfit either.  It doesn't pull together the colors from the tie or suit and its color doesn't compliment the tie or suit either.  I think a plain white would work better or changing the tie to something purple or blue would make the square work better.

Pingson, you grew a face!  Delighted for you...pics are so much better when they are a full human.

P.S. Great suit.

Perfect example of less being more, and the virtues of the much-maligned white shirt.  With the monks as well for a subtle drop in formality, I really love this for a cheerful springtime look that's still correct business dress.

Waxed jacket is old Rugby. Suit is Eidos - fantastic cotton double faced herringbone inspired by solaro but stone with a chocolate back side. Shirt is old Finamore and tie is old Rose and Born.

I agree on the tie, it was probably not the best choice given the suit. However, I am a strong advocate of the idea that PS should not necessarily match or even pick up colours present in tie or suit. Rather I think of the PS as an opportunity to "fill in" the look with something that increase the contrast of the fit. In this case both suit and tie is dark, so something light is clearly needed. White or cream would have been the obvious choice, but I think this PS work as well even without matching tie or suit - as long as it doesn't really clash with any colours it works, IMHO.

Elegant as always.

I know that white shirts aren’t deeply loved here, but I really like it in this case—more, frankly, than the pink that you sometimes wear which to me is a bit too close to your skin color to provide the optimum contrast.

I say this as someone whose skin tone is almost identical to yours.

Just one guys opinion.

Cheers,

Ac
