I like this fit, with the exception of the PS which I think should be darker to complement the tie better. As opposed to Stitchy, i don't min pairing the tie and SC, the tie is som much darker that it doesn't matter that they both have busy patterns.

I told her that I will dress however she wants me to since it's her b-day and she picked out everything. Nothing fancy.

Not bad, and I kind of like the blue on blue on blue. Shirt is not to denim-y to me...

This is just awesome, Roycru is one of my favourite posters - talk about having a personal style and being comfortable with it....

Other times I'm left scratching my head, wondering why a fit I remain proud of was so roundly ignored - or worse, reviled.

I don't really think there's an answer to this. WAYWRN is what it is. Most of its contributors are, I suspect, fairly decent and intelligent people. A few like to be "cruel to be kind". I'm torn between slavishly trying to copy the "approved look" and pressing on with my own style. The former would in some ways be easier but ultimately a kind of cop-out; very few succeed with the latter approach. I would hate to become one of those "always fails, never learns, wish he would just piss off" guys. Maybe I already am.

So...having got all that off my tits, I give you....today's fit!

Suit - Suitsupply (Soho cut, Carlo Barbera Super 130s)
Shirt - Rhodes & Beckett
Tie - Patek Phillipe
Square - Henry Carter Irish linen
Watch - Stowa Marine Original
Shades - vintage Wayfarers (ca. 1988)
Shoes - Carmina (Rain last)

Funnily enough, I was accosted at an outdoor café this morning by a lady who insisted that I must be a barrister, because I was wearing a "barrister suit". Well, I think that's what she said. In retrospect, maybe she said "barista". For the record, I am neither.

As many have said, tie not all that good, but suit is really nice. I have a very similar suit that I just got (not from SS though). Trousers are still with my tailor to get slimmed a little, so I might not get to wear it until the autumn....

Today is a not-so-casual Friday....

^ Interesting flare and low gorges on the lapels, Pingson. New? Old? Bespoke? I suspect the latter.

Upon second viewing, I think Cox's tie works well in this context. Perhaps not what I'd choose, but that's not the final arbiter, is it?

For a moment Don I thought you'd gotten highlights in your hair! :)

Anyway, me today: Similar enough to Wednesday, though different shirt / suit / tie / shoes. Tie is somewhere between orange and yellow, I quite like it, and I imagine one thing that will jar with others is the pocket square - I went very plain. Any other suggestions to what I could've used?

Hand blocked wool challis madder macclesfield tie

Hackett shirt

Canali belt

M&S Collezione suit

M&S Sartorial shoes

Random silk PS.

Honestly speaking, I don't know with exactitude. I buy what what fits me and even If I go a size up, I take it to my seamstress who adapts the jacket to my morphology.

Today's outfit. Sorry guys for the copious pictures. I hard great difficulty this morning deciding which pair of shoe to coordinate my outfit. As you will notice that I had different shoes on. I finally settled for the shannon boots.

Yeah I thought that, but I felt it clashed with the yellow and the light blue. If the shirt was white then sure. But I wouldn't wear that tie with a white shirt. ;-)

Please forgive the dark burgundy specks, which actually reside on the inside of my phone's camera, rather than on the clothing...

A white linen hanky looks better with a light blue shirt than with a white shirt imho. Some say (Foo) that wearing a white square with a white shirt looks like you have a hole in your jacket.
