Gianni made my this lovely tie, apparently there was only enough of this 50 year old silk for two ties, one for me & one for him. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
Thank you very much Gianni !

+1 on that CP The whole process with Gianni is fascinating yet when you receive the ties IRL they are stunning.

Really looking forward to his visit to London this month.

The monsoon has only just finished passing through NYC. It is still foggy, but with promise of warm temperatures and sunshine by the afternoon. I have unleashed my inner Easter Egg with today's color scheme.

I shared this feeling this morning. On my side of the world, I wish it would start to get warmer, more consistently, instead...

I am pleased to see some fun ties re-emerging in this thread. In these two cases, I feel etb nailed the look. That kind of silk print is very much a business kind of tie, albeit a loud one. On the other hand, Sotiris' tie is what I tend to think of as an evening-out tie.

I think most people will deploy this kind of pattern most effectively if you think of it as the male equivalent of sequins on a dress. Whatever occasion a woman can wear a black dress with sequins, a man can wear that kind of tie and be utterly at home. On the other hand, I think it looks slightly out of place in what appears to be an office during the day.
