Today, in the last days of tweed and madder. Not visible: chocolate brown moleskins and tan wingtip bals. I welcome feedback.

I bought this from Spoo, and it's phenomenal. Will be X poasted to Luxeswap threak momentarily. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I had the trou slimmed a bit. Truth be told (as you can all see), they could use more, but I'm concerned that more will require drastic alterations like moving pockets and whatnot, and I'm not sure I have the stomach for it. So this is how they will likely stay for a while.

Interestingly, you combine 3 things here that I generally don't like--no socks, loafers + tassels--and somehow manage to pull it off. In trying to understand why this is I come up with the following: your clothes generally fit you very well and you wear them confidently; you're able to mix casual and more formal in a way that looks natural and unforced, like you don't give a shit (even though you obviously do); you seem like a cool guy and get a free pass.

Trying out a new jacket, I believe @SeaJen may have the same one. Might need a bit of a nip at the waist and some sleeve extension.

HF - i have a number of ties that hold sentimental value to the point that i wont get rid of them. they sit in a drawer and i look at them from time to time and remember the occasion on which i wore them. then i smile and close the drawer.

Well, at least you're wearing socks...
Lengthen sleeves, I'd say so. Nip the waist: if there's room w/o pulling maybe a tad.

Nice story; subtle hint? (you may have lost sleep, but you haven't lost your comedic edge).

Does the jacket provide enough contrast against the trousers? Or vice versa?

To me its all about context. Socks are more of a necessity in a more classically professional environment (like a law/medical/financial setting) than they are for a clothing designer who could very easily wear a tee shirt and jeans to the office every day. I wear tailoring because I love it. That said, there is always going to be a much more casual approach to how I dress every day, even when wearing a suit and tie.

SF likes more contrast than this, but I'm fine with it.

I'm afraid, CD, that the square adds nothing. Lately, I've been leaving my patch breast pockets unsquared, and the cream silk doesn't really add anything. I don't believe in wearing a square for the sake of wearing a square, which is a fair bit of the rationale for wearing cream silk.

I think there is plenty of fabric differentiation so that the combo doesn't look like he's trying to make a suit. That said it is a pretty low contrast combination.

Given that, I think I'd actually prefer a lighter tie and lighter shoes, to keep everything harmonious in terms of contrast level. This is all in theory, however and I have no clue how it might look in actual practice.

All that said, there is something I don't quite like about it. This is me trying to put my finger on it.

The jacket is too casual for the rest of the outfit. Aside from that, I'd leave it as it is, it looks good.

Not a fan of the flaps on the pockets and the tie looks too wide to me - though both of those are pretty subjective.

I'm a fan of flapped patch pockets with tweed jackets, barleycorn, etc... I think that's a great match
