One cannot always win satisfied.gif But seriously (sartorial issues are always serious), my point was to match two kind of colors (blue and yellow) with their shadings. The blue dots are a reminder of the blue checks of the shirt and the yelow shading starts with the tie , then the PS, the pants and the shoes. It has a coherence in my mind.
Ok, even the deranged have their own logic...

Couple things from me:

1. That shirt needs a solid tie IMO. I get what you were doing with the colors, but that shirt is such a large scale gingham I really think it needs something to mute it. There's a pattern issue imo, either make the gingham smaller or ditch the pattern in the tie.

2. The pants are just too much for me. That's the sort of color I expect to see moleskins or cords in, yet the rest of the fit is spring. I think a standard khaki colored chino (which has some yellow undertones to it to begin with) with look more subtle and better.

As always YMMV

Always happy to confront sartorial opinions.

For some reason, shoes seem a bit too dressy for that one to me??

Good spot mate, we had a suite at The Grand and the girls loved it.

Very different from the Mods v Rockers halcyon days but still lots of triggers for me.

This is a great shop just back from the Front (Click to show)

That would be my guess too. If you look closely you can see Jimmy Cooper shuffling up the beach next to the pier!

Edit: Aha! I was right! Check out the Bell Boy, he might look familiar.

Is that Jump The Gun? I've had some stuff from there. Adam is a great bloke.

I always thought that monks were not as dressy as oxfords. Actually, monks are not that dressy, especially in brown. IMHO.

There was a time when I would have broken the bank in this shop, had I stumbled upon it. My first love of coat and tie probably had a lot to do with this movie:

Brighton is cool, I was there about 2006 I think. I really liked the lanes area, walking around all the little shops. Didn't see any mods but I like mod style and must go back!

Having never been to Brighton I am just a little pleased that I got it right : sea on the right meant the east coast ( somewhere) and the cars and the pier said England smile.gif i am actually reading a rather good crime novel set in Brighton right now : Peter James " dead man's time" : highly recommended if you like that kind of thing..

You're so right EVB, there are a couple of mods around but lots of Mod references that have stayed the course. The Lanes are fantastic but a drain on your pocket!

and @steffenbp11 it is well worth a trip you will not be disappointed. I thought you were about to quote Brighton Rock, great book and film. I'll look up yours, thanks.

Brighton is on my to do list. We were in London last summer during the heat wave and seriously considered a day trip to get to a beach, but it seemed like too long a trip for our son...
