I think the tie is a bit too narrow for those lapels, though.

This

I think a black Gren' would hit the spot @PCK1

apparently I can't reply to a post and have the original message post. If this is an IQ test...then I've lost all faith in my intelligence.

Looks like pretty classic half-break on those trousers. It's a matter of preference as to what kind of break you prefer on your trousers. I am fairly tall so I tend to prefer a little break on my trousers, so as to not be confused with Steve Urkel.

Off the rack shirt? The cuffs look too wide and seem to be distorting the hang of the coat's sleeves.

Thanks guys...I agree with you. Its a new suit for me and I understandably don't wear black ties too often. I have a black silk tie of normal width that I may try before I go out and buy a nice black gren.

Spring has arrived in Stockholm. I didn't realise, so I slightly overdid the layering.

Tie is nice but pair it with earthy colours IMO.

Fun suit; might need letting out at the waist about 0.5" either side. Would balance out the wide lapels a bit more.

Personal preference IMO. They're a bit long by SF median preference but not egregious IMO. You could try them a bit shorter on one suit and if you like that, then do the others. If not, easy to let them back down.

Yeah, I mentioned the same thing about your fits a week or so back. If you're relatively low-profile and don't flood the board with posts, it takes a bit more time for your outfits to be appreciated. But they will be, at least by a subset of posters. Don't pay the thumbs feature too much attention; many mediocre or even downright bad fits get lots of thumbs for a variety of reasons.

Hello everyone, I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to wearing suits, so I'd like to get some opinions. I have a charcoal suit with light pinstripes and bordo-colored shoes. I'm trying to find the perfect shirt and tie combo for a fancy dinner date... I want to look my very BEST. Please view the below image... any and all recommendations are welcome. Thank you!

would be better in the question & answer thread or something, but fancy dinner date is easy - best quality and fit white shirt you can find, and a nice conservative silk tie - traditional color like blue or (deep!) red, on the darker/more muted side of the spectrum, either a solid, a restrained conservative pattern, or something with a bit of texture like a grenadine. The vibe you want for something like this isn't "HEY LOOK AT ME DON'T I LOOK AWESOME" but "oh, this old thing? I look fantastic in this old thing all the time." You don't need to worry too much about your shoe color in picking shirt/tie, but you should match your belt  to your shoes.
