HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 5043

Lots of jacket + jean combinations this week, which I like. The look gets too much hate around these parts.

Combination of some elements I've used before.  Went with green grenadine and a lilac silk square to inject some spring into my Donegal tweed jacket (which I wore because it snowed today.  In late April).  Square is puffed but it's fallen down a bit.

Including a full day's rumple...

heldentenor, your reoccurring problem is the pocket square. Swap it for a white and you've got a winner.

Casual Friday Thursday. Trousers are a bit more greenish in real life. And yes, the shirt is purple...

It's Thursday, so it must be FU suit day!

I always like your stuff, Pliny. You are consistently good and mix it up quite a bit.

Basically what I hope to be one day.

it's a Cappelli -  Challis

Not everyone likes Cappelli, but his Challis r I think the nicest ties. Period.

cheers!  Kent Wang's block would work well on someone with your build IMO:satisfied:    He CMT'd that gray Fresco.   I also picked up an awsm POW, blue overcheck in 9 oz from Huddersfield Cloth recently and he's doing that for me too.

Thanks I was working it pretty hard haha

In Colorado it shouldn't be hard to find a mountain upon which to sit and grow your beard, should you decide to undertake a beard hermitage.

On a positive note regarding thumbs (as opposed to "thumb me! thumb me!" type comments...looking at you ETB :sneaky2:), I'm thrilled this reached 20+. There has been an increase in folks willingness to show their approval, a good thing, but that this fit makes the cut also demonstrates that this thread is becoming more open minded as to what constitutes a "good fit" and are relying a little more on what simply looks good rather than the extent to which a look falls within a CM framework while also looking good.

Though actually another comment regarding ETB's fit. Did I think it deserved 20 thumbs? No. But I think some of his fits certainly have. And that one did at least deserve a high number of thumbs. Another, hopeful, side effect of us being more active in showing approval is that posters get a clearer idea of what works and what doesn't and are therefore more responsive to feedback and willing to change. And as the above AAS picture demonstrates, "what works" is no longer strictly restricted WAYWRN orthodoxy, so that responsiveness is not necessarily going to lead to a homogeneity of looks.

AAS, thank you for letting me use your fit as a talking point. Please buy yourself a new pair of shoes as a reward. :nest:
