Tuesday. Winter returned with 3 inches of snow and some ice. Thus, tweed and wool are back.

With much gratitude to Brother @sugarbutch for the lovely, wool tie.

Like Don Cherry says on the Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts, "OK, kids, this how ya do it!" A bow tie should never look perfect. This is splendid.

Thanks for the thumbs yesterday, folks. Been doing a lot of closet purging lately and this one doesn't get much wear. Trying to figure out whether to keep or not:

The shoulder line is a bit messed up on that one. You might as well include it in the closet purge.

^ yeah, this. Though it's (somewhat) better in the robopose pic. Shame, because the colour/pattern combination in the outfit is great. You could try throwing money (and a good tailor) at the problem, but it'll probably be a bit of crapshoot as to how it comes out. Still, might work.

I don't think Hober does knits.

Trying out a sample 3.25" Knit Tie with Pointed End today. I like it a lot, especially since as a bigger guy anything skinnier makes me look too wide.

Glad you like the tie, cp. Desperately sorry that you've been presented with weather which made it appropriate for the day.

Yesterday I was a guest speaker at the largest Private Equity and Venture Capital conference in South America.

Lots of black suits, and most men were wearing ties. 95% black shoes. Other than me (simple white cotton), a total of 0 pocket squares. Very high correlation between Hermes ties and lawyers.

Perhaps this is why some people don't like lawyers ...

Cheers,

T M Lewin silk knit-  I looked around a bit trying to get knits that are the rite width for me, and 6.5 cm seems to work

The tie is not for conservative business dress. The shirt shouldn't be worn with ties period. As a beginner, the best advice is to perfect simple combos first. Wear a navy tie with a light blue or white shirt, get 15 likes, then try something more adventurous.
