What better way to celebrate SF's new start, than by wearing THE cheesiest tie on the planet? smile.gif

Thank you, and hat's off to you for being bold enough to wear that tie. Do love the linen(?) SC.

Bold, insane, frivolous... take your pick. :)

Yes, the jacket's linen, from Harrisons IIRC.

Your look really does have that kind of corporate vibe. I'd suggest white trousers instead, but here in the UK that would make you look like you work at Butlins. If you don't have a company that does red blazers and white trousers, that would be a way to go, though. Honestly, mind, I really don't know what would work with that shade of red. Perhaps beige or khaki trousers and a nice pair of tan loafers? I'm struggling here.

Lufty, triumphant return of the red jacket! That is "the" red jacket, right?

Indeed.

Lufty - props on the jacket! The button stance and arrangement is just great - makes the nipped in waist look perfectly appropriate. Not sure I could personally ever have the guts to wear those lapels. But I totally groove on their FU excessiveness.

Also props for the bit loafer shoes - the vibe seems just the right 'old steez' to work with the hat. (I still have a pair of bit loafers as well - will never part with them.)

I presume you don't have any serious business to attend to today?

Always serious business to attend to, just not in court today.

As am I. A somewhat clumsy before/after .gif:

Though it looks more nipped in the before shot, that's an effect of the angle more than anything else. The coat was taken up an inch, body was slimmed, and sleeves were also taken up a bit.

Holdfast - I also considered white trou, but figured that was a bit OTT for a Thursday, even if today is an office day.

Don't get me wrong, the blazer's definitely better now than pre-alteration, but it's also definitely a really tricky item to wear in a way that makes the colour an individual statement of style than appearing to be a uniform.

If you wanted to go out all guns blazing (in a non-work setting), you could try pairing it with a small-pattern floral shirt (you know, the kind of thing Paul Smith or Liberty always have), and mid-grey trousers with a red windowpane and add in tan loafers with burnished tips (like the ones Tom Ford did). Leave the shirt open collar, as you've done here, or you could even PTWilliams it up with an ascot to pimp it up even further. Killer dandy peacocking! ;)

Lufty

Awesome red jacket, and it takes balls to wear it.
If you don't mind, I'd like it better with the tie (as in the before picture), may be is the color of the shirt or something. It seems there is too much contrast with the white one.

just saying.

I'm not a big fan of most pin stripe suits, but I like this.

Swap out the gray slacks for a pair of Spoo's mellow yellows and you'd really have something worth posting. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Thanks MrD. I am also in the 1% of males who can unclasp a brassiere with my eyes. The two are probably not related.

You know what today feels like? Like the first day in a new college with all the same guys you went to high school with. All your friends are there, but you have no idea where anything is, where to get lunch, or what to do. This is EXACTLY what SF today feels like. I keep trying to post in other threads, but I get a little scared and keep coming back here to the cafeteria to eat with all my old buds. cold[1].gif

What frat are you guys rushing? lurker[1].gif
