I really wish I lived near one. Well, I'll be in Texas soon enough.

I was born and raised there, where will you be?

Born, raised, and educated there myself. Either Houston or San Antonio.

:thumbs-up:

I'd kill for some decent brisket or chicken fried steak.  Been living in New England for 20 yr and only get back home for a marryin' or a buryin'.

I lived in Rice Village before moving here and did AF training in SA, most of my family is Waco and Beaumont.

Enjoy, I wouldn't go back full time on a dare!

I'm trying very hard not to say something snarky about Houston.

Thumbs up for the Texans! I grew up in Mesquite/Dallas, but moved to Chicago 6 months ago. I miss the warmth confused.gif

Spoken like someone from Dallas. I am sure that you'd not show the same restraint in not saying saying something snarky about Ft. Worth (nor would someone from Houston, I suspect, from what I know of Texans).

Oh no. Ft. Worth >> Houston. They have the stock yards, and with them the quality of beef that you would expect. It has its foibles, but I'm from that side of the tracks and know the charms. Arlington on the other hand is a city I can bad mouth all day long. However, it is still not as bad as Houston.

I'm offended that a d town resident has anything to say about Houston...

Hahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahah

Is there anything to say about Houston? It's there I guess. Hamilton Shirts is there. It's hard to think of anything positive though which is not immediately drowned out by the fact that Houston is Houston. As far as things in the negative column go, that's a pretty big one.

A former roommate from Dallas, while living in NYC, once told a fellow Texan the following:

Fellow Texan: "You're from Dallas? I'm from Ft. Worth."

Former Roommate: "Ft. Worth? Never been there."

From that exchange (and his pronouncement of Ft. Worth as a "cow town"), I took it that Dallas would look down its nose at Ft. Worth more than Houston, but obviously, I was misinformed. As for Arlington, I always assumed that it was merely a Dallas suburb - hardly worthy of mention.

I will say, in Houston's defense, I like their airport better than DFW, which has been a true nightmare of a place through which to pass, in my limited experience.
