If you follow instiches' postings over time, you'll notice that one of his trademarks is a top-to-bottom relation between the tie/shirt/beard and the shoes.  A few people on a few occasions have felt it to be too "matchy," but I'm not one of them.  I like it usually, and here without question.

It's whatever the opposite of spezzatura is.  "Thoughtful," perhaps?

Whatever, I think it's within the bounds of reasonable personal preference.

But that's just me.

Cheers,

Ac

I dont know about that, at least as a general rule. I think CP and HF have both received more praise for their SS suits than for other more heralded brands, especially HF, who regularly wears bespoke Ede & Ravenscroft.

CM may not be exactly brand-conscious as such, but it is still fairly subject to a general trend of liking what's currently fashionable (and within that, to certain motifs/silhouettes), despite it liking to think it isn't. My SS stuff is much more aggressively modern-styled (esp. wrt slimness) than my Ede stuff, so it's not really surprising that its silhouette is preferred by some. Having said that, the bespoke stuff generally gets good feedback too, so to some extent there's a degree of open-mindedness too. I don't write what brand something is, because I don't think it really matters in terms of whether a look works or not, but I suspect most people can easily see what's SS and what's Ede.

Today, feeling very casual and very lazy. Spoilered to protect the innocence of those who only like looks with shirts/ties in this thread:

presumably not, but if there were it would be much less worrisome.

jungle, i hate to do this, but that fit needs a lot of help.

1. could be the low camera angle, could be the cut of the jacket and pants, but something is making your hips look very large and your legs and shoulders very small. not in a good way. the sleeves of the jacket look too long and its looks to be pulling everywhere, though that last part may have to do with the pose. try a more natural stance. the shirt collar could stand to be loner too.

2. the combination of items in general looks very washed out. nothing in the picture is really allowing itself to be noteworthy. there are boring fits that are boring but look nice, this just looks too bland and washed out. the shirt looks gray and i think that has a lot to do with it, the whole top block just seems to melt together.

3. i really do not like that tie, but that could just be me.

4. i do not like the "fun" casual socks with the rest of the getup.

the shoes are very nice though, and the pants look to have a very nice texture.

sorry to be harsh, but i know you are here to learn and i hope that i am being helpful.

i would very much like @edmorel to wax poetic on my shoe choice today.
