I like the top a lot.

I was all thinking "that's pretty good", until I saw the jeans.

You've got formal up top, casual below. The whole thing is dischordant. It's like Jeremy Clarkson, or big-tech-CEO-who-wants-to-show-the-troops-he-can-be-hip-and-casual.

Basically the only way to successfully wear jeans with a jacket is with a rough tweed, an OCBD, and no tie. Even then, it's tricky.

Good news is, easy problem to fix!

Darker wash denim would have looked better.

Another day, another navy blazer.

Gorgeous shoes, southernstyle.  Did I read it right that your new menswear shop is in Chapel Hill?  I lived there for six years and miss it dearly and often.  Will have to drop in when I'm next back in town.

Here's me today; conservative on top with a bit of pattern in the trousers:

The tie is a brown wool BB challis with red dots.

I think you're overstating the case, Clags. I am a fan of Stitchy's adventures in SW&D, but I don't like the shoes, either. I also like that he's posting it in this thread. But even Stitchy himself would say that you post and you take your lumps.

im all for taking lumps. shoes are excellent tho.

in any case, my experiment in cross posting served its purpose, and that shall be quite enough.

I think I could pull off jeans and a casual jacket with a coarse knit tie. But then again, I'd rather not.
as in pull them off to replace them with trousers that would look good with your jacket and tie?

My response is less to edmorel's comment and more to RTC's. The initial snark I have no real issue with. And I agree about lumps.

I also dislike the shoes (and I like a healthy amount of SWD stuff, but I've never gotten behind such shoes), but I like the rest of the fit. SWD accepts Stitchy's MC fits (after a while). I'd like to think at some point the reverse will be true.

Are you a singer, or is it just a fun name? I was wondering if you were dressing for gigs or for business.
