A little calmer today.  First try at the green tie challenge.  The vest is corduroy.  Barney's suede sack jacket.

so'k. pretty much all of SWD is with you on this one. its not for everyone. i think without the top coat pic you would not have given it a second thought. either way, its awesome, and even if you hate it, gimme a damn thumb, you (sometimes bearded) prick!

Actually, it looks best in the top coat pic... I think it looked better with the brown pants.

Today. Tried editing out the kids toys, but java kept crashing and I lost my patience.

Yes, I know this thread loves cuffs. And to be clear, I don't hate them. There just wasn't enough material to add them to these, which, I think, fit me pretty well. And I don't care enough about their absence to let it keep me from wearing the trou.

Well, I agree that was the best pic, would not have expected you to say that based on your feedback.

Sansimeon - the only issue i have is that the lapels could be wider.

GMMcL: That shirt is out of place with the other items. Too businessy.

Stitchy, you wouldn't want me to do that. You'd lose respect for me. That's okay for you and Derek, but not for us. inlove.gif

Hmm. I can definitely see where that's coming from. OTOH, we do blue stripes with neat ties and district/glen/field checks all the time. (Not to mention that Spoo does stripes with tweed sometimes, but I recognize there's only one Spoo). Is it the width of the stripes that does it? Or the white field, maybe?

A fair point, but it relies on one premise that may simply not be true.

Made in Italy Lands End. Very affordable and the grano de riso knit weave is fantastic.

It's the nature of the stripes, not the stripes themselves. These are too thin (and not a variety I favor, but I'm trying to speak more generally).

As someone who owned multiple Kiton ties, they freaking sucks. Theyre all flimsy.
