HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 4894

What is this jacket exactly? I have one almost the same. That is, the same material but with flapped patch side pockets and bone colour buttons. It has light blue part lining and striped sleeve lining. I cannot find my jacket anywhere on the net.

I've made similar decisions before. Variety is fun. However, I choose suboptimal items when everything else is boring. Ie, I've worn this square already this week so I'm going to select a plain tie so that I can deviate more in the square category.

You already selected your deviation when you picked this tie so IMO keeping the square the same would have been just fine. YMMV

Ejay, the colours are very nice, but that jacket has a seriously high buttoning point and a very high gorge..

Unfortunately, this jacket will not work for you. The shoulders are too wide. Everything else just crumbles down from there. Also, personally, I feel that the shoes are too casual for a navy suit and white shirt combo.

@TM79

i was on SF mobile yesterday, and i missed this.

ime, even with a proper camera, which i have used a few times, and certainly with camera + on iphone, which i use 100% of the time now, getting proper colors is almost impossible.

i adjust any combination of contrast, brightness, warmth and saturation in photobucket with about 98% my fit pics. getting a raw pic that is truly representative of the irl colors is super rare. hell, even in irl your tie looks different depending how the sun is shining.

it takes about 5 or 10 minutes, and i usually do it at night, but its well worth it imo.

FWIW, in taking my fit pix every day, the colors were improved first by the usage of my partner's Canon G1X (some 18 months/2 years ago), and then by the replacement of the living room floor lamp with a lamp able to take LED bulbs, which produce very white light (compact fluorescent bulbs make very yellow light, IME).

Now, instead of trying to eliminate yellow light, I have to add it in, very slightly, using Windows photo editor.

What is this jacket exactly? I have one almost the same. That is, the same houndstooth material but with flapped patch side pockets and bone colour buttons. It has light blue half lining and striped sleeve lining. I cannot find my jacket anywhere on the net. I wondered what your Hackett jacket was so it may assist me in finding mine. Thanks if you can help.

Thanks again for all the kind words and advice last week.

Dusted this off as I continue my no-tie/suit-repeat semester streak. The trousers are too long, clearly, and could use a bigger cuff. But they are also a bit roomy, so I'm not sure if they're worth the investment.

Tiebreaker may be the upper half: I'd appreciate thoughts on whether the jacket fits well enough to justify the expense.

jacket looks nice, if a little snug in the armpits. id certainly shorten the pants and taper them a bit. if its not costly, its worth a shot imo, its a nice color suit.

@GMMcL, I like the suit. Not a big fan of the shoes though :/

@GMMcL - I think the jacket fits well, so getting the pants worked on would probably be worth it (assuming you are in need of a well fitting grey suit). Overcoat is very nice too.
