Anyways, yeah. I say linen for more formal occasions so you don't have anything looking too shiny and drawing attention.

Haha i see what you did there. So would linen be fine for ALL occasions then?

RTC

That's a more complex question than would first appear.

The following link is a good source for that sort of information.

I would question your understanding of things such as tone, and words. We can agree to disagree since I feel like I'd make better progress trying to teach the alphabet to a doorknob.

You choose to imply bitterness in my writing when I assure you there's none there. It's opinion, pure and simple, with which you can choose to agree or disagree, but without opinions there wouldn't be much point in message boards. Sure my 'tone' may come off as harsh sometimes, life would be boring if everyone spoke and wrote in the same tone.

not directed at ian, just in general. yeah, i cant possibly imagine what life would be like if no one was an asshole. that would really be a miserable existence.

Not directed at anyone specifically but Jesus Christ there are some fragile fuckers around aren't there?

Nah. I think they're just letting you get some brief moments of self-esteem. Generous, I'd say.

since I'm feeling SF-y lately, guess I'll post a few more here...

yes, a classy bathroom selfie. another of my 4x1 specials from my HK tailor, shirt's by Jantzen, tie is by Impuntura (anyone know anything about them? I picked up a bunch on sale at the Bay recently, they're clearly a Canadian company and all their ties are made in Canada and rather nice, but couldn't find a damn thing about 'em on the internet), hat is a Robert Hall (Magill). Wish I had a wider brimmed grey fedora, but ah well.

edit: tommy gun is just out of frame ;)

That's the best tie I've ever seen on here. It deserves at least 20 thumbs.

I'm disappointed tbh. I was expecting a single, giant doraemon on the tie. I suppose everything in life is disappointing when compared to giant doraemon. Still. It needs 20 thumbs. Because I like the idea of undermining that thread (to an extent).

If some totally new person came on here and dressed like tira or aas, I don't know how they would be received. I really don't think it would be all that well.

Tira and LK got theirs.

As well, some people still dont like that stuff, but they realize that is that persons style so they leave well enough alone, while if it were a n00b, they would try and prod them on what they feel is a better path.

They all developed over time.

AVs are not universally liked.

Basically, again, look good and you'll get praise, don't, and you'll get shit.

I find that there can often be an assumption that, before coming here, newbies had been going naked, or wearing shirts with their names on them. The thought that they may be making their decisions consciously, and with an amount of experience/knowledge, can often be dismissed, I think.

I tend to post my fit if I'm wearing something that I think the people that post here will like. I find that my normal fits are too casual for MC, and too traditional for what seems to be the going concern in SW&D.

I see tons of fits that I like, but thumbs become meaningless if I put them on 70% off what I see. Like you, I save them for the ones I find exceptionally good.
