Hopefully this will meet less disapproval compared to my little experiment from yesterday.

Much safer, crz. Could be a bit more interesting though.
Society Shop suit?

I'll try harder tomorrow.

It's an odd jacket, paired with navy trousers. But it's from the Society Shop, indeed.

A milder day in NYC - a lighter topcoat, a lighter weight suit. The evening will be spent at the Metropolitan Museum - members' preview for the Carpeaux show.

I do enjoy this thread sometimes as there are a number of members who truly do post some outstanding fits. This forum has been great to me, since I use it more as a "shopping" tool. I have discovered some great vendors on here which I would never have discovered without it.

Some members have mentioned the frequently used terms "SF approved" and "SF not approved". I think there are a lot of conformists on here that will just go with whatever some of the more popular or more tenured members say, no matter what it may be. YRR said it best, that SF CM has a certain look right now, and this is leading some of the newer members to believe that anything they chose to post out of the perceived "norm" is incorrect.

Be an individual and don't worry about not posting your favourite jacket because it doesn't have a 4" lapel, or not posting your favourite pants because they aren't cuffed 2".

SF should be about finding individual style. It would make the postings much more interesting.

Worth re-posting.

Also, i have turned this thread into a Drinking game, a sip of beer for every "conformist opinion", And a shot of really intense Shochu from Okinawa every time i see a "Blue Blazer/brown tie" fit.

Cheers guys.

Some people on here establish themselves and get a following of groupies which makes them largely untouchable.

One member once grew a ridiculous unkempt straggly beard and nary a word was said. When he shaved it off there were all these comments like, 'looks much better' etc. but no-one dared to call him out on it when it was there.

I always say that while SF can provide a wealth of informed knowledge and educated opinion to guide the way towards looking better, be careful of dressing for the members. I'm sure there are people who get great compliments on a regular basis from their dozen groupies on the board and step out thinking they must look the dog's bollocks, when in the real world most everyone else is laughing their arses off at them.

So.....Much.......WIN!

This is a really stupid comment and comes off like you have some seriously hurt feelings and/or a chip on your shoulder.

Considering most of the people who post fit pics dress pretty boring and conservative, I really doubt much behind the back laughing is happening.

Crappy iPhone photo today....

Brilliant look. I love the vest.  In this case I think the pop of color in the pocket square really makes the look for me -- without it it would still be a good look but it wouldn't really float my boat.

Seriously hurt feelings? Get a grip man, its the Internet, its not real life. SF is a pleasant distraction for me, which often provides some interesting debates and inspiration to help me dress better, but unlike for some people around here, its not the be all end all of my life.
