A picture's worh a thousand words. That navy suit with the waist shaping is one of Sugarbutch's best suits - it looks great on him and I think he outed himself on here as being somewhat vertically challenged - nowhere near six feet anyway.

Before anyone outs me as being less than six feet tall, let me state for the record that I am 5'9", and that I have any number of three-button suits (most of them three-piece), and, to date, no one has challenged me to cease and desist wearing them (at least not on the grounds of being too short to wear a three-button suit).

That is all.

I'm almost exactly 6 feet tall (6ft 3⁄64in to be exact), but still call BS on this "rule".

5'10 here and I wear 3 button suits and SCs with no hesitation.

That's a three button suit, right?
What are your thoughts on some people who say three button suits are for 6' 3" and over in height?

Thanks, Noodles. I think the height-related advice you got for three-button suits applies only to a "hard three" with the top two buttons fastened. In my opinion, a person's ideal buttoning point is the same whether wearing a one-, two-, or three-button suit. The presence of vestigial buttons and buttonholes doesn't really change that.

I preemptively issue 10 demerits to anyone who suggests that a blue shirt would be better with this tie.

@Holdfast - I think the camera is playing some tricks, but you could be right. It's something I've been working on as I revamp my wardrobe, I'll have to measure that one to see where we are at.

@GMMcL - Beautiful jacket.

Right back at you. I see you got the memo, but it said Caruso field check with PURPLE overcheck, not red.
