We'll see... they are tough to get right, it seems to me.

There's very little room for error. I have a dinner suit without vents that fit perfectly until I gained about 4-5lbs over the holidays. The ventlessness makes it that you have to stay in a very narrow weight range, at least that's my limited experience.

Sounds like useful motivation. :D

I ordered my current one when I was a little heavier; not by much, but enough that the suit is slightly big on me, so that's part of the reason I'm thinking about replacing it with a bespoke one. Shame, really, it was actually one of my favourite suits for a long time.

Suitsupply - Oxford - Tom Ford - vintage PS - Carmina

By the way, what does the "HOF" in this thread's title stand for? Does it refer to all the hoffing and poffing that goes on, or something else? Just curious.

You win life, sir.

And here's how I was dressed yesterday: vintage fabric Fox, D'Avino bespoke shirts, shoes Bestetti MTO. And of course, the pocket-square and tie are PassaggioCravatte. More and more vintage and bespoke.

Gianni, that is a ridiculously loud outfit. But I love it. And I'm predicting that Holdfast will like it too.

Just a couple of quick snaps.  (Jacket is blue, shirt white, tie burgundy.)

Cheers,

Academic2,

Notch lapels don't belong on DB jackets. Throw in the gorge, fabric, and button arragement, and I'm afraid that coat is too dated to work well.

Shirt, collar, and bow tie were new, retail. Shoes modern, but thrifted. Jacket, waistcoat, pants, and links/studs set vintage and thrifted or product of a SF thrift trade.

This is probably what our friend 38R thinks he looks like. It just shows that you can do crazy things, but you have to do them with the right quality of materials and fit. FWIW, I don't think the socks and shoes are quite on point here and let it down a bit.
