cotton D, those trou look beige to me. i think you just need more contrast, could be a different color gray or brown, just needs more contrasting with the SC imo.

I have no purple ties LOL

I think it's probably someone else.

this one. It is not purple, after all, but I stand by my compliment.

I like it a lot and feel I can in fact wear it without looking like I don't know how to dress. I've paired it with flannel trousers and anchored it with a cutaway royal oxford and toned down cashmere tie.

I feel in terms of formality nothing is out of place, I am not trying to be ostentatious or a menswear peacock. But is it a fruitless venture to wear an orphaned jacket, even this cool recent one? If you felt I could still pull it off, what suggestions do you gents have in terms of pairing or switching buttons?

I feel pairing contrasting trousers is a good idea and perhaps switching my these solid brown buttons for horn buttons will help play down the fact this jacket appears to be orphaned. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Dye it navy and put on horn buttons. Go over it with sand paper to get a more rugged texture. wink.gif

Alright, I like Clags, but this is...something only Holdfast can pull off, it appears.

I think the combo is very good. Perhaps you just don't like how close the stripe and tie colours are.

Thanks everyone for yesterday. There were some extremely good outfits on these last two pages. Really nice.

today, not my usual choice. not entirely sure if I should like it or if there are too few colours to make it interesting. any thoughts?

I like that a lot. I'm not sure it fits in with SF type groupthink, but I really do like it.

@daDudeson , I can't see a thing wrong with it.  You could add more colour, but it is in no way necessary.  Definite navy on navy success.  You look great; only wish I had a suit that nice.

It looks nice, not every outfit needs colours. It's a bit heavy on the stripes though, with the pinstripe suit, striped shirt and striped tie. A solid shirt or differently patterned tie might work a little better.
