It's awesome to wake up to a migraine that not only causes you to feel like someone is drilling into your head but also make you see big blinding white spots in your vision.

Thanks!
A Suitable Wardrobe. They ran a sale around New Yearsish, I think.
I bought several.

I like it a lot and feel I can in fact wear it without looking like I don't know how to dress. I've paired it with flannel trousers and anchored it with a cutaway royal oxford and toned down cashmere tie.

I feel in terms of formality nothing is out of place, I am not trying to be ostentatious or a menswear peacock. But is it a fruitless venture to wear an orphaned jacket, even this cool recent one? If you felt I could still pull it off, what suggestions do you gents have in terms of pairing or switching buttons?

I feel pairing contrasting trousers is a good idea and perhaps switching my these solid brown buttons for horn buttons will help play down the fact this jacket appears to be orphaned.

It doesn't work. Other than those regatta jackets, I can't think of any striped odd jacket fabrics.

Looks like it would be a great suit, so I understand why you want to salvage something from it, but it needs the matching pants.

Could be your stance, but the jacket looks too small in the chest in these pictures.

@Rudals I think the combo is great. I also absolutely love the roll on those lapels.

Unfortunately, although I am sure it is a very nice coat, I agree with @sugarbutch. The jacket is just too suity to wear with odd trousers. Almost anything with a vertical stripe in it, other than true boating blazers and maybe certain Ivy-tastic tweeds, will look like one half of a suit.  And please don't pair this with jeans, the discord in formality is too much.

That jacket is really great, but I wonder if this is one of the few instances where gray trousers are not the optimum choice. Could be different IRL though.

Realized too late that the scale of the shirt pattern had a clashing problem with the vertical stripes of the jacket:
