The coat is indeed Mackintosh, I waited patiently for UnionMade to restock it and then had to pounce. Sadly, I don't think they make this model any longer.

They still make it - we'll have it for FW14

Is it maroon or navy with sky blue in it? Unfortunately I can't really tell.

@daDudeson, I know someone's already said this, but I'm going to say it again... good fit, but the beard brings everything down. It is not because it's a beard - I'm generally bearded too - but because it looks unkempt and uncared for, like you've just come back to civilization after being lost in the wilderness. And yet, you've clearly tried to style your moustaches... it's not coherent.

If you're going to go for a seriously bearded look, especially if you're going to try to wear your moustaches like that, IMHO you need to be pay a lot more attention to making the beard as cared for as the clothes and hair. I grow my beard to these lengths about once a year (I won't go into why now), but I trim, shape and comb it. And if you can't get the beard to behave, I'd think about keeping it shorter or getting rid of it entirely.

In defence of the Dude's beard, I think he is actually trying to groom it in a certain way which is currently à la mode - bushy and projected, with a well-defined leading edge.

I think it's fine, if a little dandyish. But I'd need to see better shots. Perhaps trimming it back slightly, while retaining the shape, could define the style better, at least until it's thickened up a bit more.

Interesting that people are so free with their non-clothing-related grooming tips on this thread. I remember getting absolutely caned for doing exactly this, about six months ago (including being called a "cunt" by one particularly charming and elegant contributor).

I haven't been around here long so I can't speak to the issue of etiquette raised in the last part of Coxsackie's post, however I tend to agree with the rest. The way a man wears his beard is as much an expression of his personal style/personality as his clothing. I don't think there is one correct way to do it, the close crop is not right for every--nor is the mountain man in a suit look haha. Regardless, the wild and free or so-called "epic" look is very in right now--especially for younger men, and it seems like that is kind of what Dude is going for; or maybe not--he knows better than any of us. Either way, I don't think it looks bad and I have quite liked the last couple of fits he has posted--beard and all.

Full disclosure: I myself am a dedicated beardsman, I generally have at least an inch below my chin--fuller in the front and closer cropped towards the neckline. I wash and oil regularly, sometimes I like to sculpt and brush and sometimes I like to be wild and free--to me that's part of the fun.

I see nothing wrong with the beard the outfit is pretty pretty good. Compliments daDudeson.

daDudeson, I'm fine with your beard.
