HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 4573

Cross post from the Challenge: big new work contract signed in spectator shoes, argyll socks, a dandy bow tie and linen three piece.  Because this is how far we go for Styleforum.  OK, I probably would have done something like this anyway, just because I'm a dick me...

Maybe that's *why* it got signed! :-)

I'd like to think they love me for me.  And it's always good to make an impression on receptionists, secretaries, HR ladies, etc.  This kind of shit they do not forget, and along with a smile and some language skills, it definitely helps. :)

Nothing you haven't seen many times already this winter; it's kind of my default/unthinking outfit:

HF I like your roll neck fits but always think they could look a little bit sharper with a slightly tighter fitting neck. One that doesn't "roll" as much, if you get my meaning smile.gif

I'm with you on that, I do a similar thing, going out to clients. I often meet HR ladies too, but often professionals who are well dressed but mostly functionally well dressed. I like to be slightly different, or in some cases very different. Therefore, they remember me. Its up to me then to make sure they not only remember me for my clothes but also what I'm there to actually talk about!

Dear All,

My first post in 2014 so happy New Year to all of you.

Now the pictures with a DB flannel suit and a 7 fold Passaggio Cravatte tie:

New Drake's tie. I had a hard time with this tie to be honest; matching the colour was challenging, so I just wore a white shirt and let the colour of the tie speak for itself.

Notice anything different in the above shot, Rudals? :-)

The Friday Challenge this week is to wear a navy suit with a navy tie. I'm participating one day early, as I've got a very early conference call tomorrow morning - my personal Friday Challenge will be waking up in time to get to work to get on the call. I am also participating one day early, as there is a large office party after work this evening, for which I am dressed.

Suit - BB MTM
Shirt - Tyrwhitt
Tie - BB
Cufflinks - Niletti Creations, NYC
Braces - New & Lingwood
PS - Robert Talbott
Shoes - Harris, via Barney's NYC
Overcoat - Adolfo
Scarf - New & Lingwood
Hat - Selentino

I think the white linen square is a good choice in this context. I find browns work nicely with purple, so with a different suit (e.g. blue), you might try something in that range (e.g. something similar to SB and CD's sand/brown Drake's square).

Yo. What width is that tie? Also, I honestly dont think that is the best tie colour.

Clags, what a fantastic, autumnal color palette here! Really well done!

I would agree. Other than that it's a pretty nice fit. You really are learning something, good buddy.

Thanks guys. I agree, it wouldn't have been my first choice on the colour, but I liked the texture and I felt something like this would add to my tie collection rather than take away from it!
